Just One Word: Without

Without
[ooc: Spoilers for 4.20 The Rapture]

They took something from him. Castiel doesn’t know what but he knows something is missing. He looks back on his time before his brothers came and pulled him back into Heaven like someone else would look at a blank wall. That time is there but it has no significance to Castiel. It just is, like everything else in the world just is and the only part of it that might mean something are the parts where he’s done God’s Will.

Yet, there is a part of him that understands his brothers took something from him. Nothing physical or tangible but something… something is all he can think of. It doesn’t bother him so much as make him think that whatever they took it must have been important to their cause, Heaven’s cause. He is better off without whatever that something is because when he looks back he sees all the mistakes and failures.

Now, there are no mistakes, no failures. He carries out his orders with swift, merciless action. He no longer questions if what he does is right. Of course it is right, it is the Will of Heaven, God’s Will. God the Father is all power, Alpha and Omega, and His Will cannot be wrong. That is what Castiel knows now, understands like he cannot understand his actions before.

Just Muse Me: How Many Angels?

Spoilers for "On the Head of a Pin"

Brothers & Sisters

The scene is one of destruction. Cars are thrown about, alarms screaming, while rain falls gently on broken glass and a few small fires. Castiel looks over the scene for a second before reaching out and turning the alarms off. The sudden silence makes the rain and the glass breaking under his feet even louder.

He crouches over the body and spends just a second looking over face before his eyes drift downwards. He reaches out and pulls the dress’s ornamentation aside, though it clings to the bloody spot between his fellow angel’s breasts. The puncture wound is still wet in the center where the weapon pierced through the flesh. Blood had rolled down the white skin to pool in the hollow of his sister’s throat, leaving twin trails, bright red streaks, in their wake. The count was up to seven.

Goodbye, sister.
