I'm just reblogging things at this point

@solarpoweredcreature

somehow an adult (just ask if you want me to tag something/need image descs or something)

I just remembered that this was a thing that was HILARIOUS in 2006 and apparently that was ten years ago now.

Old people: join with me in remembering how funny we found this on LiveJournal.

Young people: look at this lolrus, it’s so happy, it has a bucket.

And then they stealed away the bucket and we realised we had fucked up a perfectly good elephant seal and given it anxiety.

listen this vintage meme is high quality and i will hear nothing said against it

20 years. I am not happy about this.

I’m delighted at the bucket reappearing but dismayed at the passage of time

Happy 20 years to Lolrus and his bucket!

Charging forward.

apparently the director of the no fucking til marriage movie is like "it's not the sex purge movie, that's not what it's about" but my guy I'm sorry you made the sex purge movie. that's what you did. like describe it however you want but conceptually the film is about a nation wide sex fest on the one day a year fucking is permitted by the state, that's a sex purge. the film can be about a wholesome romance happening during the sex purge but it is definitely the sex purge.

Wait ok so vanity fair just came out with an article describing the rules of the sex purge & apparently it's enforced bc the us government literally chipped its citizens like dogs with biomoniters that glow green when you're allowed to fuck. what in the conservative vanilla hell 😂😂😂

also apparently queer people in this universe just said "no thanks" when it came to this ban which is kind of based actually:

My first thought personally would be to try a big magnet on the scanner to mess with it.

I don’t even like sex very much but I still don’t need them spying on my business. Big magnet.

There’s probably also some local tech furry you can call to deactivate that thing and The Straights are too proud to ask the fursuit guy for help.

If i look at your blog and your entire thing is getting into heated arguments with really hateful anonymous asks then I'm blocking you. Even if I agree with everything you're saying. I just think that is a deeply sad way to spend your time on the internet. Go play Minecrap or something this isnt good for you

I dont give a flyeing fuck what you think of my page

Pacman that's literally not your gimmick

Fuck yo blog fuck your jokes fuck your takes fuck your life fuck your soul fuck your world fuck your century fuck your family fuck your clocks fuck your treasure fuck your wristwatch fuck your gold wristwatch and fuck yo gold fucking coin

let's do this again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again-

It also deeply bothers me how many people pull the "okay now ask the average African American how they feel about gay and trans people" as a gotcha, to try to act as though Black people specifically hate and are oppressing queer and trans people (and as if we just, AREN'T those things too).

Buddy ask the average White American how they feel about gay and trans people, since we're taking the census and the piss. Hell, look at the people in charge currently pushing anti trans and anti queer legislation and tell me how they identify. Look at the racial demographics of our last election and tell me who you think is out here going rah rah for the gays and theys.

The audacity to suggest that my entire community is homophobic (I.e., you spend zero time around Black queer and trans folk) but somehow yours is worthy of a closer, more nuanced look... Really some OG white supremacy, actually! "Those savages, they don't understand things like gender and sexuality, they're just angry uncultured brutes!" -mentality shared between 1700s race scientists and 2026 You, apparently.

Some folks was really out here lying with those #BLM pins 😭

In case anyone's curious about the actual statistics, here's a survey from 2025 (spoiler: folks are still generally okay with queer people across the board!):

Roughly seven in ten white (71%), Black (70%), and Hispanic (70%) Americans agree that transgender people deserve equal rights and protections, while support is slightly higher among AAPI (76%) and multiracial (74%) Americans.

And in a win for absolutely everyone, support for same-sex marriage has gone up since 2015.

the stupidest thing about mental illness is the short half life of reassurances. like yes I know you reminded me yesterday that I'm not secretly toxic waste that everybody wants rid of but that was like 18 hours ago and I forgor

I was talking with my therapist about this post this morning, and she helped me realize that just seeing this post is helping me manage this unwanted thought pattern.

When I think back to my youth, and about how the group I hung out with as a teenager felt to me like they mostly kept me around as the butt of the joke, as someone to make fun of, it's easy for me to assume that that formative social interaction a) actually happened the way I remember it, and b) provided an experiential basis for a belief that I'm "secretly toxic waste that everybody wants rid of".

But seeing this post -- and seeing that tens of thousands of people have agreed with the sentiment -- has led me to the realization (which my therapist agrees with) that this is just a common thought pattern among people with social trauma. And if it's a common post-traumatic thought pattern, then I don't have to accept that it's true; it is extremely unlikely that we are all secretly toxic waste and that nobody really wants us around (in fact, it's far more likely that that's not true of any of us). And that gives me grounds* to look twice at that thought pattern and discard it when it comes up.

* It doesn't always work, but at least now I have a better chance.

had to share this

In every way this is set up to be a joke like any other short video, it even uses the trope of main character in a wig to represent their mom, but it isn't funny at all. It's just sweet and nice
