they’re technically not the same person—I mean they’re both Grian, but different versions of him/different universes or something like that
Simply put, Xelqua is just a Watcher version of Grian that stayed, so he’s never known Hermitcraft until meeting this Grian.
They’re not perfect copies of each other tho, they’ve had slightly different lives. Xelqua doesn’t know Scar, he loved Taurtis instead.
Xelqua’s original world was destroyed by Watcher magic, his own fault, so he travels through the voids to different worlds instead, he usually finds other versions of Grian and helps him out, like a good Saint ! So he ends up in HC eventually.
They’re a bit of a paradox, Xelqua is a version of Grian who changed his name to Xelqua… Because of the Watcher Saint Xelqua, who only exists because Grian joined the Watchers, who also followed the Saint Xelqua.
