my hottest historical fandom take is that i think we’ve swung the pendulum too far in the opposite direction when it comes to socially acceptable RPF. there are just certain figures you can’t hamilton-ify without it signaling to POC and/or people from the global south/historically exploited nations that their ancestors’ suffering is just a footnote to your entertainment
