Massive YouTube spam for DD Appreciation Day
Though we’re not sure how the day came to be, we are all well aware that for
several years now August 10th has been Duran Duran Appreciation Day. Each
year we are continually thrilled that we have our own day, and as a way of
thanking you this year, we wanted to share a snippet of the song “Runway”
from our upcoming record.
Thank you for letting us have our day, we couldn’t celebrate without you.

Writer's Block: Front and Center
What summer concert would you love to watch from the front
row?
Aerosmith
Writer's Block: They had it coming
If you could drop a character from your favorite TV show, who would you off and how would it happen?
Jenny Humphries on Gossip Girl. I'd have her get hit by a bus because she fell into the street in a drunken stupor.
I cheated a little, because I don't know that Gossip Girl is my favorite TV show, but Jenny is definitely my favorite person on a show that I want to die.
Writer's Block: More than words
Which song lyrics send shivers down your spine and really hit you emotionally?
"Neither One Of Us" by Gladys Knight and the Pips
WARNING! EXCESSIVE CUTENESS!
A baby boy and his puppy play nice with each other. The baby giggling is TOO MUCH!!!

Poor South Korea
Go home proud knowing that your team was good, and waaay hotter than all the others. Except Argentina. You and Argentina are equally hot.

lingerie available in 20 colors meant to match a variety of skin tones
Awesome. As a kid who grew up in the era where the Crayola "Flesh" color crayon was nothing close to my actual flesh color, it's nice to see a company that realizes that skin color is variable.

Memorial Day
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010…
In honor of fallen service members, in honor of Medgar Evers, in honor of James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner, in honor of so many. For every soldier who gets a story in the paper, there are so many who are known only to grieving family and friends. For every Medgar Evers, there are many families that still mourn, a story that is still told, and tears still shed all these years later (mine included). For every Chaney/Goodman/Schwerner, there are thousands of Johnsons, Smiths, Williams and others we don't have pages for on Wikipedia.
They fought for freedom and justice for ALL. Some in foreign lands, some right here in America. Some fought fascism overseas, only to be murdered in their uniforms when they got home. Every ounce of blood that was spilled in my behalf worldwide will never be taken for granted, and will never be forgotten. I am grateful and I am blessed, to be on this side of the planet and this side of history.
Equal justice is still elusive, but it is more equal than it once was.

I am not seething with jealousy.
The first lady of Covent Garden
Dance has been looking for a star to succeed Darcey Bussell. With Tamara Rojo it has found her, says Alice Jones
Monday, 26 April 2010
Tamara Rojo clearly remembers the moment she first thought that she might be quite good at ballet.
It was at a parents' evening at her ballet school and her teacher suggested that the class should have a go at a set of 32 fouettés (when the ballerina balances on one foot, kicks her other leg out and spins herself round, 32 times). By the end, there was only girl left standing. "I tried and I did it," Rojo arches a darkly elegant brow. "And I suddenly thought, 'Huh, I'm not that bad'." Ballerinas take years, their whole career even, to master the bravura move. Rojo was just 11 years old.
From that moment on, to borrow from the dramatic plotline of many a classical ballet, Rojo's fate was sealed. She toyed with a couple of other ideas – geologist and antiques restorer, apparently – but aged 16, she had already turned professional and joined the Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid. "There were other things that interested me, but they didn't... ", she clutches at her neck as if to strangle herself, " ... hold me ransom like ballet did."

Fave line: From there she landed a job with Scottish Ballet ("I spoke no English but it didn't matter; neither did they... ")
ROTFLMAO!!!! I like her immensely. ;)
