Just wanted to share a super snow forecasting site...

Sorry to be a spammer but my friend just finished making a snow forecasting site for Europe and the US and I wanted to share it because it's crazy useful. It's really easy to use, you just type in a resort and it'll give you the on and off piste forecast for the next week with snowfall and you can compare it to all the resorts nearby.

So, for various reasons, I'm probably going to be taking some time off from school, and I came up with the idea of becoming a ski bum - working at a ski resort, and spending the rest of my time skiing. However, it makes more sense for me to do this spring quarter than winter quarter, thus putting me right out of ski season.

Does anyone know of any ski resort pretty much anywhere (okay, U.S. is better) that is open year-round, or especially in the spring? I have googled and googled and come up with about nothing. Or, some are open year-round, but during non-winter months they host other activities, thus defeating my purpose of ski bumming. I'm specifically looking for an entry level job for the months of april, may, and june, but only those months. Does anyone know if this is possible?

A Question about the parts

I'm fairly new to snowboarding and Google has failed me. I'm looking to buy used snowboarding gear online, to get me through the first season while I'm still learning. I found a fairly good deal on the board, boots and bindings, but the bindings are missing their base plates. Are these difficult to find or expensive to replace? Would it be better to just keep looking?

Thanks in advance.

Burton + charity = awesome!

Mods, feel free to delete this if you consider it to be spam, but since it is something Burton is doing, I thought people might be interested!

Burton have teamed up with a new site (it's so new that it is still in beta testing stages), SocialVibe to help raise money for charity (there are various causes to choose from, I chose health)

SocialVibe is a site that works with your social networks (LJ, Myspace, Facebook, etc.). You sign up, pick a brand, put a banner like the one at the bottom of this post on your profile, and simply for being active on the site you are using, you will earn points for prizes, and more importantly you will be raising money for charity. It is NOT a scam, 2 of my friends work for the site in LA. If you have any questions about this please post them in the entry and I will do my best to answer them. Otherwise,

Sign up for SocialVibe and help Burton raise money for a good cause
