(no subject)

Well it's another day another sumptin'. My oldest cat, a beautiful golden tabby named Jimmy Pouncer Nosey Cat, just finished licking off a slice of pizza, while managing to miss all the jalapeno slices. Go figure.

Home and Abode

WOW!  Evangeline's been in a housecleaning mood and geez, she's done a great job!  I got worn out just watching her go!  WHEEEE!!

One more day that my hayfever and tastebuds are really kludgy, I can't hardly taste anything.  =blech=    p

Not-so stormy

GAWD, it's always the really weak tropical storms that are the sloppiest.  TS Erin moved in over the old Sea-Gun Inn and the Lamar Peninsula yesterday, near Corpus Christi  (Hello, are you Chrisites ok?  Or are ya'll called Corpuses?    ;)  )

It rained like a sumbitch over half of Texas, there's gonna be lots of flooding in the Hill Country.  It rained steadily here yesterday, *definitely* tropical...warm air, warm rain, heavy even when it was light.  If this one had stuck in one spot for a couple of days like Allison or '79's Claudette (over 4-FEET on my house at Sargent in one day!!!~)  things would have been really bad, but Erin behaaved herself and moved super-fast.

Now we're looking at Hurricane Dean, currently a Cat-3 storm, threatening to become Cat-4 before either hitting the Yucatan or moving in to Belize and Honduras.  I'm betting on Yucatan, and then becoming a Gulf storm.  I've got a bad feeling about this one.

Check out the National Hurricane Center...

nl: "Spoonful", "Cream Farewell", not one of the better ones, like from "Live Cream",   oh well.  It's still good.

What is and What Will Be

The first question is...where have I been?

I don't know.  Well, I do, but I've got to take some time to configure some things.  The biggest thing is that I've lost my family...more soon...

GaghhhStuff

Ahh, lawdy, can this really be the...?

Like the old saying goes, "getting sick and tired of being sick and tired".  What a drag to be flaring on EVERYTHING at once.  Yuck!  And of course the artritis is the worst.
I've gotta see if I can get a quick appt with the rheumy to see about new treatment.  Any of ya'll take methrotrexate?  I've put off using it as it calls for a severe cutback on drinking wine, beer and booze, but geez.  At least I could still sip 'n spit wine  :)

Anyway, we'll see what happens.  Meantime I need to start visiting my pasture to get some fishing in before the lily pads take over the tanks for the warm weather.  It's almost impossible to fish with anything but a long cane pole then; even fly-fishing is iffy.  Though the bigmouth bass are FUN on a streamer or topwater bug  :D  And the lilies surely help keep the water cleaner.  Them and the cattle that tromp down the pondside growh so that we can walk.  But I'll have to find some way to get a couple of ATV's to take there, since the property's overgrown with brush from both directions and I can't walk far enough to leave the car anymore.
Besides, the ticks and chiggers and snakessss are more or less asleep until it's been warm steadily.  I don't mind the snakesss but the bugs are a real bother, even living with a good enough friend now to check each other for them.  If you've ever caught ticks or chiggers then you know what I mean...  ;)

Hmmm, when is the big spring meteor shower this year?

...Late in the Day

Yikes, I haven't been here for a LONG time.  Nor hardly anywhere else online.  I guess that I needed to take a break, since I did.

About all I've done online is some work and a bit of playing around.  It doesn't help that so often lately I've been having breakthrough pain, especially in my back and shoulders.  And I don't have meds strong enough for that.

Man, whoever is against human cloning, geez, if I could grow parts of me, I'd want to trade out for new shoulders RIGHT NOW!!

...some sort of combination connection sort of between a screw-on and a camera-lens bayonet mount might be useful.

Like I used to have surfboard fins in different sizes and shapes, for different waves.  Including a couple that I sanded down.  Mostly Brewer-shape fins  :)  ==Dick Brewer was definitely a spiritual person, complete with the Glow.  I never spoke with him but he was the only other person besides me and a friend at a surf flick during Easter of '68 at Port Isabel.  Sitting on his chair like a bird, looking as serene as anyone I've ever seen)

Anyway, changing the fin position makes the board have REALLY different characteristics, especially in turns and speed.  Further noseward = more easily turnable, though with less force; further back lets you take more juice from the wave, and REALLY crank off a bottom turn or series of S-turns.  And goes FASTER!  Just my speed, even in Texas  :D

(REALLY neat was when I had boards that I could knock the fin out while in the water, and move it further up or further back on the tail...WHEEEE!!  :)  )
