Hello Tumblr community!

This blog has been started to document and share fundraisers vetted by @nabulsi, @el-shab-hussein, and Moh'd Ayesh. We felt it would help to create a space dedicated to this documentation process.

The fundraisers we are vetting will be added to this page as well as included in our google sheet.

We will continue to reblog and share on our personal blogs, and that will not change, but this blog will help better organize these fundraisers.

The way people act like only white people can have certain disorders or be mentally ill is so fucking racist. Like not only are they minimizing disorders and mental illnesses by saying that but this is biggest reason why lots of poc are less diagnosed and struggle to get the help they actually need. This feeds into the need for lots of poc to mask or feel that they should be strong because they aren’t given a chance to be vulnerable. It also bears the brunt of unnecessary pressure to not give into racist views because if a poc acts “up” its immediately centered on their race and not the disorder or mental illness but if a white person does it they have an excuse. Lots of older generations of poc say this kind of thing and that they don’t believe in that kind of stuff which is telling because it just shows that poc are constantly being told they can’t be vulnerable and have to act a certain way.
