On July 4, 2026, our nation will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Moments That Made US is an exhibition exploring the ideals at the heart of the Declaration of Independence through moments in our history that have defined their meaning. Come explore how local histories and stories were shaped by these founding principles through Moments that Made US.

Skamania County Fair & Timber Carnival

A cherished tradition since 1908, the Skamania County Fair & Timber Carnival brings the community together to celebrate heritage, connection, and the American spirit. As part of the America250 celebration, this year’s fair honors generations of tradition while creating new memories through community involvement, time-honored events, and a shared sense of pride.
Veterans Day Bells of Peace Ceremony
November 11, 2026, 11am-12pm
Honor Veterans Day at the Columbia Gorge Museum’s Bells of Peace Ceremony on November 11, presented in collaboration with the American Legion. The program features a flag raising, prayer and pledge, the national 11:11 bell ringing, guest speaker, and choir.
