REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THE PIRATE PUNX RIVER ROCKFEST OVER POINTFEST

1. Does UMB Pavillion let you camp on thier lawn? NOPE!!

2. Coheed & Cambria comes to St. Louis VERY VERY VERY often. Don't worry. You won't DIE if you miss just one show (they're only playing a short set anyway).

3. With the exception of A7X and Bullets And Octane, I'm quite frankly dissappointed with this year's lineup. I'm glad that I have a reason not to go to PointFest. If I was you, I'd feel jipped on the lineup. It seems to me that PointFest is working on it's downfall.

4. For the amount of money one would pay to attend PointFest for one day, one could purchase an all weekend pass to the River Rockfest for the SAME PRICE!! That's three days of fun in the sun, camping, floating, debauchery, and two days of bands!!

5. GECKO (geckofats) WILL MAKE YOU SMORES!!

6. Pudding Wrestling at the LOGAN campsite!!

7. IF YOU GO TO POINTFEST YOU WILL CONTRACT AIDS!!*

*Based on clinical testing. And by clinical I mean, "Absolutely." And by testing I mean, "Nothing."

Now that you've been sufficiently persuaded to attend the River Rockfest, head on over to the information page to catch up on all the details ... http://www.siue.edu/~jehiggi/bassr…

Peace. Love. Pinball.

So is it just me, or does it seem like there is not enough time in the day to get any kind of work done? I suppose that's the shittiest thing about being a senior.

Anyone got any time management tips? Or old homework that I can have?

Go Cougars!

A friend and I drove up to Purdue to watch the Cougars play Purdue in basketball this afternoon, and let me tell you, the Cougars looked good to these two alumni.

Final Score:

Purdue 78, SIUE 72.

We played great.

I encourage you to go see a game or all this season at the Vadalabene Center.

Couldn't we all use a little more SKIN on campus?

Yeah, I thought so too.

Luckily, the Student Experimental Theater Organization's (SETO, pronounced set-o, NOT seat-o) fall production of SKIN is opening this Wednesday. The press release I've been sending out is:

"Naomi Iizuka's poetic adaptation of 'Woyzeck' is a brutal look at a group of people who have become numb in the face of a quickly evolving society. Those who aren't as deadened fight a losing battle with peace and sanity while trying to save their friends from a detached existence. Oct. 26-29, 7:30, Oct. 30, 2:00, $5 tickets, children not admitted)"

It's five dollars to get in and runs about 75 minutes, no intermission. As a warning, we do use a strobe light and it gets fairly loud at times. Any questions, just drop me a line.

JOBS! I NEED A JOB!

Okay. Does ANYONE know of ANY PLACE that is hiring at all? I am dying. I have no money and a 75 dollar cell phone payment every month. My parents are getting pissed because I can't find a job, but almost all of the place I have gone to have either said they're not hiring or they don't want college students because we can't be there on holidays. I applied at Target, ya know, they were "hiring". I have yet to talk to anyone who has even gotten a call from them. Liars! haha.

Okay, anyway. Please respond if you know of any way I can get a job. I need one... Real bad. haha

SPRING 2006

I've signed up for Spring 2006 classes...
GEOG 330 GEOGRAPHY OF EUROPE MWF 1100-1150AM (major) Wolfel
GEOG 450 GLOBALIZATION MWF 1200-1250PM (major) Wolfel
IS 336 GLOBAL PROBLEMS & HUMAN SURVIVAL MW 0300-0445PM (general) Rehg/Danley
HIST 300 RACE & ATHLETICS IN 20c US HIST TR 1230-0145PM (AOS) Bradley
GEOG 402 CULTURAL LANDSCAPE TR 0200-0315PM (AOS) Acheson
I went for the AOS, instead of the minor. My AOS is Cultural Geography. We'll see how this pans out.

The plan right now is 15 hours in Spring '06, three hours Summer '06, and 15 hours Fall '06. That will [should], including current semester, put me at 125 hours. Heh, for the first time in my life, it actually looks like I have a plan to graduate college. How about them balls. December '06 will be five and a half years. I don't think that's too shabby.

Of my new classes, Wolfel is the only teacher I've had. Has anyone had these other teachers? Can anyone offer advice or ass-kissing tips? It's shaping up to be a tough Spring.

Wanted: Gym partner :)

I was wondering if there are any other fellow gym rats lingering in this community. I'd like to go to the Fitness Center on campus on Monday and Wednesdays from 9:15-11 or so. Is anyone else interested in a gym partner and available at that time?

And how busy is that place during that time?
