Over the weekend a fellow member of our Constellation group publicly accused me of being an adulturess and destroying her marriage.  I felt slut-shamed and confused because this person is identifying as polyamorous themselves. 

It has since come to my attention that she has also been making these accusations to members of the Constellation group, but in private.  Since I have no idea who these lies have been shared with I am posting this here.

My current partner and I began dating a year ago in June.  He discussed it with his wife and gained her full consent on June 3rd.  June 7th was our first date. I had already been attending Constellation meetings for months on my own prior to June, but once he and I started dating we started coming to meetings together. Our sexual relationship didn't begin until even later.  

Their marriage ended for reasons known to the two of them.  Those reasons existed before I, or polyamory, ever came into the picture.  I empathize with her feeling of loss and need to blame someone, but these accusations are baseless and untrue.  

If you have been approached with a slanderous version please feel free to contact me.  She has publicly threatened me with legal action.  Thankfully I have kept good documentation of my own if the need arises.  It's still unclear to me what basis she thinks she has to sue. It's not illegal to fall in, or out, of love with someone.
