a southern gothic adaptation of a shakespearean tragedy

I don't know why it is I have the best ideas when performing mundane hygiene tasks, but I do. This morning while I was washing my face I asked myself why no one had ever written a Buffy s7 AU where Faith and Spike get together and screw and talk about how much they wish they were good enough for Buffy Summers and Faith is the meanest Dom, and eventually of course Buffy falls into it and they all pretend very hard that there's absolutely no feelings because I know what I'm about. And no one has ever written this which is a missed opportunity if I've ever seen one. So... I'm going to write it. It could easily be a 100k idea with lots of pining, but let's be honest with ourselves - I don't have the patience for that shit. So it's gonna be a series of drabbles (the informal "short bits of fic" definition, not the strict 100 word rule I used to adhere to) that I'll post here in batches of three to six as I gather them up. No guarantees about them being at all in chronological order, I'm just here to write pining and sceneing and, eventually, a big ol' sappy sexy reunion.
