Southern Pacific F Class 2-10-2

The Southern Pacific Railroad F Class 2-10-2 is a Class of 180 American 2-10-2 Steam Locomotives built by ALCO and Baldwin,Lima for the Southern Pacific Railroad between 1917 and 1924 designed to pull heavy freight trains as well as pulling some passenger trains . All were scrapped in the 1950’s except for 2 preserved . One locomotive number 3721 (later scrapped) appears in the 1934 movie Murder in the Private Car .
