South Africans are an ethnic group local to the nation, South Africa. The majority of the White population is of British or Dutch descent. White South Africans of Dutch descent are called Afrikaners, while White South Africans of British descent are either called English-speaking whites or Anglo-South Africans. The Coloured population have a mixed lineage. They descend from the native Bantu or Khoisan people and European (Dutch or British) settlers or Indian indentured labourers. Most of the Coloured population live in the Northern and Western Cape Provinces in South Africa, while the majority of the Indian population live in KwaZulu-Natal. The Afrikaner population is concentrated in the Gauteng and Free State Provinces.[1]
