Light novel
Japanese novella-type storytelling in conjunction with illustrations, geared toward young adults
A light novel (ライトノベル, raito noberu) is a type of Japanese novel. It is mainly intended for young adults to read.[1][2] They are sometimes adapted into manga and anime.

One of the most popular light novels is the Haruhi Suzumiya series, which was one of the series to popularize the genre.
