Braveheart is a 1995 American epic historical war drama movie directed, produced by, and starring Mel Gibson. It is loosely based around the life of 13th century Scottish warrior William Wallace, who fought against the English when they occupied Scotland. The movie it was released on May 24, 1995 in the United States.
