P.G. Wodehouse: A curious smile, yours... It reminds me a little of the Mona Lisa's. It has the same underlying note of the sardonic and the sinister. It virtually amounts to a leer. Somehow it seems to convey the suggestion that you know all. But I think it would be better if, for the present, you endeavoured not to smile at invalids or nervous persons.
