I am looking for something very specific, it seems. I am looking for a media player to go on a Windows Surface that I can use the touch screen with. I have this old Windows Surface that I use for watching stuff on while I'm on my laptop. What I want to do is to be able to reach over, touch the screen once, or touch the screen twice and have it pause. I hate having to look for the little tiny play/pause button on the interface itself every time I want to pause it.
This, however, is apparently a challenge. Windows Media Player doesn't play the files I have. GOM Player pisses me off because it seems incapable of just playing a file without opening a browser window asking me if I want to upgrade. VLC Player, I cannot get the controls to work on. I have Mouse Gestures enabled, but the one for pause/play is so convoluted I can't get it to work, though I can get skip back/forward and volume up/down to work by swiping.
So. Anyone know of a media player where all you have to do is touch the screen to pause it?
