So, in the North Crater lies my favorite old toy, yet it has fallen to other hands. This is most amusing. I may have to see if I can relay any claim on it.
What could have been quite an interesting game was quite ruined by a sudden Quake and a bit of a flood. So tragic.
Still, that was not the only disappointing thing. It seems one of my favored puppets has again proven himself to be entirely useless. A reject. A failure. He couldn't even stand to protect his own friends, let alone himself. It's rather sad when you're defeated by the one whom you claim to have killed, don't you think? Still, I don't believe I would have even dirtied my sword with his blood, even if it did mean his death; such a small reward for such a deep tainting would hardly be worth it.
Ah. So many disappointments. I may need time to recover from it all.
My puppets have cut their strings and left me. It's a tragic thing, I'm certain, but not unexpected. They were flawed from the first and I am sure that they would only have broken with use.
I think that I shall leave this place. There are many other worlds for me as well as many other toys.
I shall seem them all, but not before I leave a...reminder of the ghosts in the woodwork.
I have sought to teach my newest subject a small lesson, but I am quite unsure as to how well it was taken. It was a lovely moment, however, to see the dawning understanding in those eyes and to see her realize how foolish her actions had been. I think I will treasure that the most of all of which I take from this experience.
Still, will the child survive her first lesson? It is in her hands. I left aid with her--not enough that she could escape, even if she willed to--but whether she decides to succumb or to fight is her own choice.
Foolish children follow even the darkest paths if they think a friend may lie at the end, yet even this seemingly heroic and altruistic act should not save them from the consequences. Even a child's mind can learn that her actions cannot come without punishment.
I think it will please me to teach this...once my dear companions have finished their own games.
