Dear Yuletide Writer:
First: thank you so much for participating!
Next: Everyone always stresses that "optional details are optional" ... but it really is true. If one of my prompts already has fired you up, don't even bother to read this letter! Just go for it! All the very small fandoms I requested this year deserve more fic, and so I know that anything you write will bring joy to many.
Alllrighty then ... before unleashing my details I want to throw this quote out, which I came across as I was browsing other DYG letters. I really like the sentiment, and so I've copied it whole. (I forgot to note who said it, but I will go back and credit properly at some point.)
Also, when I say "I like x," or "it would be awesome/cool/amazing if you wrote X," I honestly don't mean "I like it, so DO IT!" What I mean is, "if *you* want to put x in the story and are worried I *won't* like it, don't worry, I do! It's the kind of thing I like!" I'm always the person who gets a completely off-the-wall bunny for something completely random, and then I worry that my recipient won't like it. So, I totally don't want you to feel like that-- don't feel like you have to play it safe. If you feel inspired to do something, I want you to go wild and just do it! Naming a thousand things that I like or giving tons of examples of story ideas/prompts is just my way of saying: if you come up with an idea that's as weird as this? Do that! But you don't have to.

General Likes, aka "Yes, please!"
Some of the things I very much enjoy coming across in a story (and yes, some are mutually exclusive--it's a smorgasbord of optional details!) are fluff, angst, comedy, friendship, unrequited/secret longings, tentative reaching out, anti-heroes, Icy Douchewaffles who thaw slightly once in a while, sensual detail, strong women, the triumph of the underdog, snark, laughing in bed (mixing humor and sex is an instant win in my book), lovers kept apart by fate or duty (*wibbles*), heroic sacrifice, happy endings, tidy endings, untidy endings that leave the reader free to interpret as they will.
I am entirely happy with genfic for any of this year's prompts. If the prompt lends itself to a shippier place know that I adore romance, UST, and limey erotica. ~ I have no problem with either with fade-to-black or PWP, though if you feel motivated to write smut I'll mention that I enjoy the before and after bits -- flirting and foreplay and pillow talk, especially if it's in-character -- more than detailed descriptions of the "tab A in slot B."

Fandom: Bob's Burgers
Character: Louise
Prompt: Louise is my favorite character on Bob's Burgers, and I doubt I'll ever get enough of her mischievous scheming. I'd love to see genfic with her either pitting wits against (or teaming up with) other comically-evil characters such as Kreiger from Archer, Bender from Futurama, or Bad Horse's Evil League of Evil.
Although I absolutely want shipless genfic here, I do understand that I've mentioned Krieger ... and he's a pervert. But he's neither a villain nor a pedophile, and so if you do decide to give Louise an adventure with him I'd expect him to shield her from his more "interesting" experiments (if only by coming up with entirely outrageous explanations for them).
Fandom: Basara
Character: Ageha
Prompt: Ageha is my favorite manga character of all time, and just about anything—other than pairing him seriously with Asagi—would make me happy. Post series fix-it fic would make me very, VERY happy. Post series fix-it fic that also manages to get him together with Shirasu would quite possibly make me so happy that I'd transcend the earthly plane entirely

Additional suggestions: Ageha and Cha-cha the Pirate Queen flirt, making various people (needlessly) jealous. ~ Ageha's early days with the Butterfly Troupe. ~ Ageha and Raizu friendship. ~ Ageha and Asagi snark (I've never been able to see those two as lovers, but a fic where Asagi keeps trying and Ageha keeps rebuffing would make my black heart cackle with glee). ~ Ageha and one of his complicated/unconsummated relationships - with Sarasa, with Shido. ~ Ageha goes fishing with Nachi and Hijiri. ~ Ageha and Taro friendship fic.
Fandom: Saint Seiya
Character: Shion
Prompt: I love all four characters that I nominated this year (Shion, Dohko, Hakurei, and Yuzuriha), and I'd be over the moon to see fic about any of them.

Shion and Dohko are one of only three couples across all the fandoms I've ever been interested in that I feel passionate enough about to call an OTP. ~ If you'd rather not do slashy romance for them, Dohko and Shion friendship would be wonderful -- just please don't pair either character with someone else. ~ Genfic with Shion and Hakurei, or Shion and Yuzuriha, would also be lovely. ~ Even Shion just repairing Cloths would make me burble happily. ~ Or old Shion taking care of Mu. Or .....l
Fandom: Orphan Black
Characters: Felix Dawkins, Alison Hendrix
Prompt: I love Felix: artist, confidant, sassy sidekick. I especially loved his interactions with Alison: her pearl-clutching report of how she'd cleaned his apartment was one of my favorite bits of the entire series.
I have a real fondness for slice-of-life with certain characters, because I can see them making even mundane tasks like housecleaning, grocery shopping, or going to the laundromat entertaining. I'd prefer no "Felix is suddenly straight" or "Felix and Alison get drunk and sleep together" PWP here, but I can certainly see him discussing sex, or his various toys, or the general topic of Men Can Be Such Shits (most likely quite humorously) with Alison or any of the female characters named below. Bomus points if this discussion encompasses Donnie.
Optional Options: I've always thought that a fic with Fee making friends with a character like Kenzi (Lost Girl), Darcy (Thor), or even Chloe (Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23) would be great fun, dishing on the other people in the produce department or getting philosophical as they sort socks. ~

- OCs as major characters
- Romantic or sexual relationships between adults and minors
- Hardcore BDSM
- Setting changes, especially mundane AUs that strip so many essential elements from the original that only character names are left.
- Excessive character-bashing
- OOC for anything other than humor. (i.e., I'd much rather read a genfic where characters are recognizably themselves than a fic where they've been distorted to make a ship/plot work)
