I don't quite remember which of his novels was the first one I read, but I always found his wit charming and his writing engaging. And I will remember how human he made Death appear.
I will miss the anticipation of new Discworld novels, but I will probably never stop rereading the ones already written. And I have a feeling there's another new resident permanently staying in Death's Domain, having a well earned rest.
Well, I hope I'll have a terrific birthday. If not, I'll demand my money back.
And kudos to Douglas Adams for the title of this post.
PS. Still alive PS2. Awaiting confirmation on wonderful birthday present I got wind of on Friday. I am now signing the contract short of being at least temporarily employed.
I suspect it was via MSN Messenger, but my Hotmail account used mostly for that ended up spewing a message to my whole contact list without subject-line and with a link to some UK website I don't recognize ever using.
