New David Gough Art prints

x-posted

Entitled ‘Theothanatos 1’ (which is Greek for Death of God) this is my latest work, wet from the studio. Painted in oils on a 16” x 20” canvas, I’ve been working on it steadily for over a month.

I am so happy and proud of this piece, and It pretty much encapsulates the new direction my work is going in, and I have at least seven or eight similar themed pieces which I’m working on towards a show possibly in the fall.

That said, I figured I’d float some signed prints on EBay...enjoy.

Storm Chasers

This new piece was inspired by a watercolour piece I painted for my wife which was stolen in transit somewhere between New Jersey and Mexico, I reworked the theme of a dark elfin empress and her dragon companion, poised and ready to take flight on the lightening tendrils of an impending storm.

Entitled 'Storm Chasers' and Painted in oils on 16" x 20" canvas, the original is available as a Buy it Now, or as a $6 limited edition print of 20 from the following links:

I'd like to share two new pieces, which were painted to display at a recent faire I attended. The first piece is called 'Oracle', and portrays a moon shadow priestess, with the ability to see into the future. Here she has obviously seen something quite startling. Painted on 16" x 20" canvas, she is available until 21st August 7pm PDT, you can bid on her from the link below.

Oracle original art

The Second piece is called 'Safe Passage', and originally was intended to be a portrayal of a weary druid as he retired into the mists of time, but I painted the wounded warrior at the last minute.

You can bid on that piece until August 19th 4.30pm PDT

'In the deep recesses of the quiet cavernous underworld, she comforts the raging beast with tender heart...'

My last homework

In just under two weeks, I shall be leaving the UK forever, and so I wanted my very last piece here to be a reflection of that.
Called 'The Solitary way', after the last line of Miltons poem 'Paradise Lost' Its how I feel about England and my experience of living here.
Regaled in how I imagine Vivian Westwood might dress her, the fairy looks to distant shores longingly, out of place amongst the exotic menagerie, whilst a curmudgeonly tattooed dragon coils around a dead oak, recalling one supposes St George, as a griffin (that most anglo American of mythical creatures) and pheonix stir from a superior branch.
So the very last thing I did before my life changed forever, and you can bid on it from the link here.

Though my family may not always approve, I'm fascinated by folklore and fairy tales. That's why I'm working on a THING (not sure what it will end up to be) about folklore and fairies and world mythology. Any help with resources, online or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated.
I started a thread at http://authorhaven.org/phpbb2/view… so I could get input and aid. I'm crossposting this through a few LJ communities in the hope of aid. comments here or at authorhaven would be welcomed, regardless of content.
