New Here!

Hello ladies!

We've just gained 7 new MITs this spring. To keep MIT meetings interesting and educational, what kind of fun games do you do to help the girls memorize/learn the material for the initiation exam? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

Hey ladies!!

During meeting last week, my sisters and I were brainstorming ideas for fundraising and musical service projects. We were wondering if any of your wonderful chapters had any ideas to share with us Theta Rhoses!

Classical Singer Convention, anyone?

Hello! I'm living in San Fran and graduated UMiami a year ago and am from Sigma Chi chapter.

I was wondering if any sisters are going to the Classical Singer Convention in May/2009 in Chicago this year? If so, want to go in on getting a room at the Westin O'Hare together? The special rate for people going to the Convention is $134 per night.

OR!!! Are there any sisters willing to put me up for the duration of the convention? It's from May 29-31, 2009. I'm participating in the University level Competition, so if I make it to the winners recital, I'll get you tickets to come too!!!!!

I'm willing to chip in some money for whoever lets me stay at their house for whatever. I'll make breakfast too! :)

Please let me know!!! :)

Hi Sisters!!

I'm researching graduate programs in performance and was looking for some suggestions of professors you might know/like and the schools they teach at. I also wouldn't mind if any of you know some piccolo enthusiasts... I'd love to study with someone that loves picc as much as me. =]

Let me know. =]

er... graduate studies?

Hey girls!

So, since I've started researching grad schools, it's been a very important factor that there be a chapter of sisters at each college/university I consider... because, hello? i totally love my sisters! haha :)

I still have a year left to consider schools, but right now, my top choices are Texas A&M and Syracuse.

Are there any sisters from either of those schools?

I'd really like to know about the music program (I'd, more than likely, be a music ed GA.. and I'm also a horn player, who's into jazz on trumpet and trombone) and well, the music fraternities from a student's perspective!

If anyone would like to give me any insight, that would be awesome! (And greatly appreciated!)

and a few pictures... because that's how we do.

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

*While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff, and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the U.S.

For you choral teachers out there looking for a job:

My county (Onslow County, North Carolina) will have 3 positions, (maybe more) for next year. The ones I know of are, 2 middle and 1 high school chorus position.

If you are interested in all, let me know - I'll get you connected with who need you. :)

Websites?

Hello ladies,

As editor of the Delta Chi chapter for the 2008-2009 school year, I would like to say hello and show you our chapter website. My predecessor has worked very hard on it and I would like to keep it as up to date as possible. I also feel that it should be shared with more than just our chapter. So feel free to stop by and take a look at our website. If your chapter has a website, feel free to post it as well. =] I'd love to see it!
