...where an interesting t-shirt is a prompt for fiction.
An all fandom community, Shirted provides prompters an opportunity to see their favourite characters in their favourite t-shirts. The community aims to have a weekly post where you have the opportunity to leave a link to a picture or a picture of a t-shirt in a comment. Include your prompt for the authors and voila, fiction from tshirtion.
Each week will have a theme that you may or may not choose to participate in, hunting the internet for that perfect picture of that Band Shirt From The Eighties or that Horrid 16th Birthday Shirt From Great Aunt Pam. A post will go out every Monday, notifying you of the week's theme.
Our Calendar:
Kicking off in February, Shirted has four weeks of themed shirty goodness.
February 2010 1 - 7 Mythical T-Shirts Week We want to see beasts across breasts of mythical proportions (either the beast or the breast). Get searching for your favourite mythical beast shirt.
8 - 14 Mathematical Joke T-Shirts Week We few, we geekly few know of all the geeky shirts. Lets see some mathematically funny ones to get our words rolling.
15 - 21 Weird and/or Inappropriate Manga Shirts Week Is that young Japanese girl in an awkward position on your chest? Does the giant eyes on the cartoon cat sit proportionally on your nipples? Cause we wanna see it sitting awkwardly across shoulders in some fics!
22 - 28 The 'Hanging From The Neck' Shirts Week You know you've seen those shirts where the tie he's wearing is actually printed on his shirt, or that mp3 player is really just ink on some cotton. Why is your favourite character wearing fake shoes around his neck? Let's here the stories.

Prompt Layout:
If you do not know how to write html in a comment, there is a guide below to help you out so we can all see your shirty goodness. You are welcome to comment with the picture of the shirt. I'm sure the shirt sites would like their bandwidth to not go caplut, if you would care to avoid hotlinking pictures, that would be awesome. But, please, link to the shirt/picture's origin. What good is a cool shirt if you can't find it? Obviously, if you own the rights to distribute the picture (a.k.a. you took the pic yourself) you do not need to provide a link for the picture's origin.
To format prompt: Leave a line break between the picture and then continue prompt as such:
If you do not know how to post pictures in comments, here is the place for you. NB: I have added a space after the < in order for you to see the code. This space must be deleted for the code to work.
To insert a picture into the comment you nee to copy this template and fill in the extra details.
< img src="insert url of picture here" />
To resize the picture you need to include either: height="insert no. here%" width="insert no. here%" between the line's < and > or height="y in pixels" width="x in pixels"
If you want to make the picture a link you need to follow this template:
< a href="insert url of link here"> < img src="insert url of image here" height="insert no. here%" width="insert no. here%" /> </ a>
Do not forget to add the </ a> otherwise the rest of your comment will turn into a link.
I'm looking for a mod to help me keep control of the chaos that will soon be this community. Just email me at henrietta_holden@hotmail.com if you are interested.
