They've been trying to do this for ages. Souls to the Polls is a hugely successful voter turnout tool specifically for Black voters. After church on Sundays, entire Black congregations will go to vote.
It looks like they've also eliminated some early polling locations in more liberal areas, including college campuses.
Some counties still have limited hours on Sundays, but on the whole it's going to confuse voters and restrict their options.
Remember, if voting did nothing, they wouldn't be working so damn hard to stop you from doing it.
Every once in awhile I think about the time my ex flipped out because our then 11 year old was reading fanfiction. Like he was INCENSED. And I was flabbergasted. Like we started reading fanfic at the same age, so what? And he was furious “no YOU read it back then, that was YOUR hobby not mine”.
Like wow, okay, my bad. Well what is the problem. I read it and I still read it? Like sure there were some that I came across that had explicit scenes but it didn’t hurt me and I mostly backed out of them until I was older. “Well that’s because your mother should’ve kept a better eye on you.”
His insulting me, my hobby, my parenting, AND my mother’s parenting over fanfic is so wild to me. Saying that if the kid wants to read fanfic he should only be allowed to write his own and not read anyone else’s is like telling him to write a comic or novel any time he wants to read a book.
