Welcome to Shifting Paths! Please read all the information on this page before requesting membership.
Shifting Paths is a community for therians who follow shamanic paths. It is intended to explore topics and experiences related to being a shamanistic "animal-person". However, we also welcome otherkin, totemists, pagans, furries or anyone else who feels like they could gain something from and give something to the community.
You must be 18 years or older to join. Some of the topics that may be discussed are of a "mature" nature. If you are young or new to the ideas of shamanism and/or therianthropy, there are plenty of other communities and sites designed with you in mind.
Stay friendly and respectful at all times. Thoughtful debate is allowed so long as it doesn't devolve into attacks or knee-jerk defensivness. There are many controversial topics found in modern shamanic practice (use of Native symbols and techniques, use of entheogens, use of animal parts in ritual, the roles of sexuality and gender identity in shamanism). Feel free to speak your mind, but be aware of and respectful of other views.
Do *not* post chain letters, petitions, or quizes. You may advertise other communities and websites only if they connect to the topics of shamanism or therianthropy. If you sell items related to shamanism, you may post a *link* to a page listing them, but do not directly post the items to this community.
Please stay on topic. Any political/ranting/personal posts that are off topic will be deleted.
Do not use "L33t-speak". While I'm not overly-picky about spelling or grammar, please do your best to make yourself understandable.
Respect the privacy of this community. Do not post anything from this community to any other journal or website. Those caught doing so will be made to leave.
