Share Yours is a community for people to share their stories. One day, those stories will probably be made into an anthology and printed in a little book. So if you post here, you could one day have your story in an anthology. We'll ask your permission first when we want to include your story.
So what kind of stories are we interested in? Stories about rape, sexual consent, not quite consent, any kind of experience where you felt harmed in some way. And it's not just stories, opinons are okay too, although stories have that certain something that makes them more appealing to read: the personal element we can relate to of a shared experience.
We want to hear these stories because we think it is an important part of sexuality, and a part that is not often spoken of. This anthology will be released in conjunction with a group of performances about sex, life and beauty, and so we thought to include the side of sexuality that may not be about beauty, or expressing yourself, but may just be about constaint, and being unable to say no or yes.
We're interested in stories about living with traumatic sexual experience, no matter what it is. No matter what gender you are, what your experience was, who it was with or whatever, we would like to share it with you.
You don't have to join the community to participate in the anthology. If you would rather remain anon or wish to write under a different name or whatever, you can just email your piece to us (freakishpain@hotmail.com or christringfellow@hotmail.com) and we will put it up or just keep it for the anthology. Conversely, you could choose to put your piece in a comment without having to be a lj user or log in.
If any of these little words or sentences above struck a chord with you, write something! Give some thought to what your write, and try to make it easy for people to follow and read.
