Discussion: Reveals Under Pressure

I can't get enough of those stories where Merlin and Arthur are in a dangerous situation, and Merlin is forced to reveal his magic in some spectacularly obvious fashion. That's probably my #1 bulletproof trope in this fandom. But I've been wondering about this scenario lately and I'm really curious to know what other people think.

In a dangerous situation, how far would Merlin let himself be pushed before revealing his magic to Arthur?

Take it and run with it! I'll post my own thoughts in the comments.

Looking back on Season 3.

Now that most people have had a chance to digest S3 I thought it would be a good time to discuss Merlin and Arthur's relationship throughout the season. Did you like the way it was portrayed? Were there things you wish the writers had done differently? Things you loved, things you hated? Finally what would like to see happen in S4 in regards to their relationship? Does this differ to what you think will actually happen? Discuss away!

OT: Is anybody moderating this comm anymore? I've left 3 comments on the page-a-mod thread and had no response.

Weekly Party Post #016

the coming of arthur (part two).
Morgana has been crowned Queen of Camelot, and brings about its downfall. Arthur forms a resistance against the new monarchy, but Merlin is aware that not even a skilful warrior like Arthur can defeat an immortal foe without magic. Will he be able to reclaim the great sword Excalibur from the Lake of Avalon in time to save the lives of those he cares the most about?
