[sticky entry] Sticky: Fic Masterpost

shadowhive: (Ray Master Toro)
This is my Masterpost for my fic here on dreamwidth. Most of my stuff now is posted here (though I sometimes also post on ao3 or Rockfic). For my lj stuff, here is a list that probably needs majorly updating.

My Ao3 is here

So there it is, stuff with a šŸ”’ is stuff that’s friends list only and likely won’t be reopened, but, going forward, not much will be like that. My older stuff is still locked as well, but that might just be temporary.

If you read any, even the old stuff, and like it, please leave a comment! Comments are amazing!

Challenge #1

In your own space, update your fandom information. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So it’s time for snowflake again already which seems strange because last year feels like not long ago (and also forever ago at the same time?). So happy new year snowflake people!

This post is now gonna be the new sticky post replacing the one from two years ago (why didn’t I replace it last year? Who knows!)

I’m Stuie, I’m 37 (which is very much what the fuck) and I live in the Uk. Currently I’m a student with the Open University, studying Renewable Energy which should be the last course of my degree (probably won’t be I don’t feel I’m doing well). I have anxiety and depression and probably other things, but we’ll see if I’m able to get better diagnosis and meds this year.

Anyway! Fandom things. I love Star Wars, The Legend Of Zelda and Doctor Who. The latter of which I post about whenever I watch episodes (be it new eps on tv or whenever I watch the collection boxsets, which are awesome).

I also game a lot, currently I’m working on Super Mario Wonder, Tears Of The Kingdom and I’ve recently started Jedi Survivor and Baldur’s Gate 3. Though I also play a bunch of other stuff too, Dead By Daylight, Dreamlight Valley, Elder Scrolls and a bunch of pad games (including Star Trek Timelines, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Cats Are Cute and PokĆ©mon Masters).

However one thing I’ve ended up getting into are watching streamers. I watch QSMP streamers from time to time but I also often watch James Marriott (and his drummer Jago), Seapeekay, Shoto and a bunch of other generally unhinged and pretty streamer guys. (And I need to do an updated posted on them for people)

I used to like bandom stuff, though because of the various fandoms being awful it left a sour taste. I still like a variety of bands, currently that’s a mix of James Marriott, Set It Off, Sleep Token, Weathers, Lovejoy and Waterparks among others. And Atreyu, which is a rabbit hole I’ve very much fell down.

In general I post random nonsense, but I also do posts about Doctor Who and other things I watch (who is the main one I get into detail on though I wanna do more posts on other things).

I post fic, mostly on here, which mostly rpf nsfw (usually with streamers or bands) though I really need to get back to posting on ao3. I’ve kept meaning to but I’ve generally failed.

I’m very sure that I’ve missed something, but who knows.

Feel free to add me if any of that seems interesting, one thing I like about snowflake is making new connections so I hope to make some again this year. I try and be nice and friendly with people as best I can.

Hope you’re all having a nice new year.

I end with two pictures of my cat, because cats are cute (and she’s curled on my snoring now

[sticky entry] Sticky: 130 Fic table

Jan. 9th, 2025 12:32 am
shadowhive: (Geoff Dom vibes)
Ok so one thing I wanted to do is to do a new fic table thing (based partly on [personal profile] carrythefire’s one. It was originally gonna be 30 but has somehow (especially tonight) ballooned to 80 oops.

My intent is not to start on it for awhile. I wanna finish my current main 5 fics and a few others (looking at you Slam Dunk fic and a few others so the first fic for this might not be till Febuary, but I want this to be a long term thing anyway.

Anywhere here it is (and damn the coding was a slog).

shadowhive: (Maxx Infected)
So yesterday’s intent was to go to town, see A Perfect Life, then Bleach and Backrooms. So let’s see how that went.

Before I went through The Mandalorian And Grogu soundtrack finally came, yipee! Strnage lc though the physical disc has one less track than Spotify does which I didn’t notice until I ripped it this morning.

The trip to town went ok. I went a lil early to check if the co-op by the station had the mandalorian drinks cause I saw they were on offer but alas they just had the fruit shoots and the Robinsons cordials (which I may stoke up on the mango one is really nice)

In town I didn’t do much, just popped in Poundland then went straight to the cinema.

Trailers for A Private Life
Wild Horse Nine: Looks like it could be funny but I’m not sure it’s something I’d watch
Camp Miasma: I was sold on this the moment Gillian’s character said ā€˜there’s a whole at the bottom of the lake where the films come from’ so glad it has a date
There was a music thing I missed the title of
Tony: something about the life of Anthony Bourdain, looks like it could be pretty good, again, not sure I’d see it myself

About two thirds of the way through my right eye started aching so I spent the back half of it with my eye closed or covered up. That was fine to finish off something but not upideal to watch a whole other thing, thankfully I just got the ticket for A Private Life, cause there was an hour ago between it and Bkeach I intended to use for lunch then come back.

So instead I left, popping in Aldi to kill time before getting on the train home. Of course the train had issues too. It stopped at the station before home and stayed there for over 10 minutes without explanation.

I don’t mind that much that I didn’t see Bleach, cause I’m sure I’d be lost, but I might be able to see Backrooms cause it has been extended a few days next week. (Though I am hoping to do Minions And Monsters/Evil Dead Burn and The Odyssey next week.) I do wanna get the Moana cup the cinema is getting for mum, cause one topper is Heihei so 8 wanna get it before we see it (if we do) cause she loves him for some reason.

Once home I pretty much flopped, watched Castle, did some two point hospital (badly) and then waited for The Pale Horse to come on sky mix. It was an ok adaption and one of those things were you were spotting people. There was Louise Jameson and Jean Marsh among others. Plus there was one guy I couldn’t place, I recognised his voice but couldn’t place him cause of his glasses. Then he took them off and I saw it was Andy Serkis. I guess Clark Kent just wearing glasses isn’t a bad disguise as people think.

I didn’t do much after it. I yapper to a friend, did a little gaming but the call cut out then my eyes went achy so I just went up to bed.

This morning after putting the soundtrack on my laptop, then pod thing, I watched a Heated Rivalry ep (I meant to last night). The rest of the day is gonna be waiting on the food shop, then Seapeekay’s subathon and then… Who knows.
shadowhive: (Lothcat Sleepy)
The past few days have been a bit bleh because my head’s been so achy suddenly. It might be due to the weather which, though it hasn’t been hot has been heavy. Which ugh. And has t helped that my stomach’s been weird too.

I had considered going to the cinema later in the week but shifted the plans to Monday but now it feels a bit 50/50. It sucks that A Private Life only has showing a tomorrow but I don’t mind missing Bleach and might be able to catch Backrooms later on.

The coming soon for the cinema did get update though so Camp Miasma (and Coyote Vs Acme) is coming 21st of August. So that’ll be an interesting double bill.

Speaking of films Arrow has a sale on so I looked through added some things that looked interesting and… not gone through them all (for reference I originally had 58 things, it’s now 46 and I intend to get 5). The main definite one is the Sana Collection cause I’ve had my eye on it for awhile but.. we’ll see what else I get. It’s not like I’ll be ordering for a week anyway.

(And speaking of ordering my Mandalorian And Grogu soundtrack finally shipped woo!)

And also speaking of films Project Hail Mary is on prime which my tv keeps reminding me but I’ll probably hold off on watching (if you’ve not though you shouldn’t!). But my tweet mentioning it got posted on their insta stories which was a surprise.

I did start some things from the subscriptions. First was Strange New Worlds, so I started season 2 and I’m four eps in. The first ep was a solid opener, the second made me pissed at the federation’s prejudice. The third was a contemporary time travel one which I’m usually eh on but this was actually a great one. The fourth was a little eh though. I do love the new chief engineer, she’s funny.

I also watched Widow’s Bay and I’m two eps in but I’m totally into it. The second ep had kinda Hokum vibes being set in a hotel, though the twist there didn’t surprise me. But it also had the creepy image of a church bell chained up… despite ringing the night before.

Then last night I finally finished Welcome To Derry. I wasn’t sure they’d be able to wrap things up well enough in just one episode but they actually did. Though I am so pissed about what happened to my boy Taniel. Joshua stop playing characters that get gunned down.

Plus Joshua Odjick decided to post on insta and… Unff

Other than that I’ve been low energy and not done much, bar daily gaming stuff and going on Two Point Hospital. I’m several hospitals in now and the difficulty spike is so annoying.

I’m sure I had other thoughts but, like always, they’re very much gone.
shadowhive: (Lothcat Sleepy)
So the heat has beeen horrendous these past few days. Apparently it’s been the hottest days of June on record which… very much isn’t a good thing. And it’s made things so draining. I’ve had sweat dripping off been unable to sleep with most nights not being able to settle until at least 4am. Which… ugh.

Yesterday was just… ugh though. We got warnings due to the weather so I sat mum down Monday and told her not to do anything, cause I had visions of her overexerting herself without telling me. Sure enough yesterday she’d decided to turn downstairs into an obstacle course yesterday morning which just made me even more exhausted when she called wanting my ā€˜help’. I’ve told her before the best way of doing things is for me to do things with her from the start (ideally with warning) but for some reason she’s allergic to doing that, expecting me to ā€˜help’ only when she’s half done and her making things a mess. It was just so frustrating especially with the heat. Like why is she like this?

I have managed to watch a few things though so let’s get into that. (Thoughts under the cut, tales From 85, From ep 2, We’re All Going To The World’s Fair)

As I predicted I didn’t get much from prime day. I just got a Star Wars book, the updated complete locations which has some new stuff from Solo/Andor/Rogue One so I’m curious to see them. (I still need to read the mandalorian guide). Plus I also picked up a Skeletor figure to go with He-Man. And Strange Buildings from the kindle sale (I need to get back to Strange Pictures.) I might get those reduced month subs for things but we’ll see.

I did pick up Two Point Hospital and Campus from the switch sale. I have them on Xbox but they’re not a great game to play with my eyes being bad (and text being small) so hopefully having them on handheld will be better, that is if I go on them and not just get sidetracked

Speaking of games Marvel Snap has been terrible with its crashing, the current season has been so much I did contact support a few weeks back but it feels utterly useless. I’ve done back and forth submitting more info but there’s no real progress it feels. Which is so annoying cause this season has had a new Jeff but I didn’t wanna buy the pass when nothing works well. And by that I mean every single game crashes at least once, which makes some modes impossible

I’m still waiting on the Mandalorian and Grogu soundtrack to come in at hmv but there is Exit 8 on the way so yipee. There’s also a Project Hail Mary Steelbook just announced so I’m hoping it gets a uk release. If so I’ll have to cancel my preorder to get it cause it looks so pretty. Just look at it

I dunno what I’m gonna do with the rest of the night. I was gonna try and watch something but I dunno if I’m in the mood/mindset. I might just flop instead.

Hopefully I am going to see Supergirl tomorrow (with Ghost In The Shell/Bleach) but I am prepared to just just up on it and the anime stuff if the weather is too overpowering. If so I’ll go next week and see Supergirl with Minions And Monsters (yes I wanna see it, it looks fun!) if I do see Supergirl I might watch Minions And Monsters with something else, maybe Toy Story 5.

Anyway, now to flop
shadowhive: (Cole Cute)
So Starmer resigned this morning. Good riddance to that moral vacuum.

I find it utterly baffling how many people say he was ā€˜decent’ or ā€˜had integrity’ after all the bad things he did. From supporting war crimes, arresting protestors, pushing for cuts to disabled people and screwing over immigrants, nothing about him ever screamed decent, or even whispered it. I’d say I hope whoever comes next will be an improvement but it feels it’ll just be Starmer 2.0. Ugh.

But anyway, enough politics.

The heatwave has returned again, which had meant it’s been a few days of not doing much, having dicey sleep and generally just being flop. Apparently it’s meant to get worse, so I hope everyone is staying safe.

I had hoped to watch some stuff this weekend but honestly my head was too achy from the heat to do anything which sucked. I hope this week will be better though I doubt it.

(The only thing I did manage to watch was the Death Valley finale and Spider Noir, which is really good!)

On the plus side, I finally heard back from xbox uk. A few weeks back I won a code on stream for a game called Kiln, but they were offline a few days for summer game C’est stuff and when they got back to me they couldn’t find codes. They asked if there was anything else I’d like from recent streams so I sent two suggestions. I finally heard back Friday and they’d sent both! Directive 8020 and two point museums arty facts dlc. Directive 8020 alone is over twice as much as Kiln (and something I wanted much more than it, plus Kiln is on game pass anyway) so I’m really happy. I might start Directive 8020 sometime this week. (I had almost preordered it, but missed out causa timings.)

Has anyone got Apple TV or Paramount +? The tv shown that subscriptions for both are half off until upnext week and I’m kinda curious. I know Paramount has Trek stuff, but Apple TV also has Widows Bay which I’ve heard people rave about. So does anyone have thoughts/knowledge?

Cinema trip is planned for Saturday (I had considered Wednesday for Jurassic park but I’m leaning against it now). The plan is Supergirl, but I’m thinking of making it a late afternoon showing cause they’re also showing Ghost In A Shell and Bleach, both eps of new series. It has been forever since I’ve seen Bleach though so I’ll probably be lost.

Then I might go next week for Minions and Monsters/Toy Story 5, then the week after for Evil Dead Burn (maybe).

But as with anything we’ll see.

Tonight’s gonna be Brokenwood Mysteries, then maybe watch something (depends on mood) and then see if anything is in the prime day sale (I’m expecting it to be a bust but maybe they’ll have Clown In A Cornfield 2).
shadowhive: (Pasmay Pretty)
So last night after the post I didn’t do too much, but I did watch the next of the blu rays I’d picked up, Broadcast Signal Intrusion. It’s a tricky one to recommend cause there’s no real explanation as to, well, anything, but on the other hand you have Harry Shum Jr looking pretty.

Today was the trip to the hospital which, well. The hospital trip did feel as I suspected, a lil
Ointless. It was a repeat of the test I had last month and I got the sense from the technician that he was confused I was back (so who noted me to come back I’ve no idea?). Who knows if it shown anything. Personally I don’t see how but who knows.

We did go around town before it though which was more successful, though there weren’t some things I hoped. The War Games Steelbook had been nabbed (yesterday I think), Planet didn’t have the Masters Of The Universe comic (it sounded like they’ve been flying out) and hmv didn’t have the Mandalorian and Grogu soundtrack (poor planning, distribution issues or them selling well?)

However I did get a bunch of things! I got the last He Man from The Entertainer, which yay! I love he! (Should I get skeletor?)

From Forbidden Planet I got two funkos, Embo and Clang (one of the Anzellans) both from Mandalorian And Grogu, cause they’re both awesome. There was a Strnager things tee with the various demos reduced, plus I got a mystery dice goblin bag (with pretty orange dice). There was also a new Funko bitty dungeons and Dragons thing which has a lil Drizzt with a nice d20 (I think it’s the best one of the options). Also there was a Father’s Day promotion so I got a free box of Star Wars socks. Finally Father’s Day pays off!

After the hospital we came straight back home, but then we decided to use the day bus ticket to pop to Morrisons to use various vouchers. I got a Mandalorian puzzle, along with various things to try, though it’s made me tired mostly cause one of the couches (cause I got assigned Argentina in a World Cup thing on the app) was for a 2 litre bottle of their own brand fruit twist.

Pics of stuff here

I’m watching the great Australian Bake Off now and I love the one presenters purple hair. And all the cakes so far look nice

It’s Pride month and I think the only gay thing I’ve watched is Touch Me. I think I’m gonna get back to Heated Rivalry and rewatch Wildhood sometime. (Plus Netflix pride section had some interesting sounding stuff)

(I also need to organise/update icons)

Weekend plan is mostly resting, hopefully watch stuff but mostly just be flop
shadowhive: (5SOS Michael Red)
Well there’s not been anymore hospital letters/calls cancelling or adding to the appointment so it looks like we’re good to go tomorrow.

The plan is much like last time, go into town, look in a few places and then go to the hospital. I’m hitting up CEX (cause they had the war games in colour steelbook) and Forbidden Planet (hopefully for the Masters Of The Universe tie in comic). I was gonna get a He-Man figure from there too (cause of my discount) but the entertainer has them for 20% off so I’m gonna see if I can get one there.

The last days haven’t been too exciting. Mood and energy have been back to plummeting at night and creative energy still isn’t there (I wanna write, but haven’t had the will to even open anything).

There was the Dead By Daylight Anniversary stream and I caught some of it. They’ve just added Jason (from Friday the 13th) yesterday and they announced that Art from Terrifier is coming later in the year. However I found the most exciting thing is the new survivor coming next week, which is the first Indigenous survivor Shane Wiigwaas and he just looks so cool. I don’t usually pick up stuff day one (I usually wait for discounts, the last stranger things one was an exception) but I will pick him up. (I mean just look at him)

I also got roped into a library stint last minute (literally an hour before going) which was annoying. I did at least start the next bit of Silverweed Road but it was quite busy. (Plus I got sent to look for a kids book that someone ordered which is always a futile endeavour)

Last night I did start From and damn. I didn’t expect the gore to be right there from the get go. I am intrigued though. I wonder if the… thing keeping people in the town is there to keep the creatures in. Or if those new people were only let in cause people died?

I did look at the new cinema listings and damn. On Saturday the new Toy Story is being shown 21 times that’s more than anything else I’ve seen them have. (It’s showing on 4 of the 8 screens throughout the day) I might see it at some point but probably not for awhile. (Next is Supergirl, maybe with ghost in a shell so Toy Story 5 might not be till Evil Dead Burn)

I’m sure I had other thoughts too but they’re gone.
shadowhive: (The Child Soup)
So today was another trip to town for the cinema.

I went pretty early, cute I was going for the 10 am showing of Disclosure Day. So I was able to hit a few places beforehand. I went to the clearance place but they didn’t have much but! They did have a Funko of Dustin from Season 4 (in his battle armour) so I picked him up. Then I went in CEX to pick up Black Phone 2 since I saw they had it in stock at last. So that’s another of my fav films from last year ticked off physically.

They also had the new Thunderbirds boxset behind the counter which looks pretty impressive. I really need to get it sometime.

After going in b and m for stuff for mum, (and the entertainer to look if they got the clearance Link, they’d not I might need to order it) I went to the cinema (but more on that under the cut).

Between showings I went to Argos and got flareon Funko cause it was on sale, I looked if smyths still had the stranger things care bear I saw last time and it was Lucas, so I got him. Then I had noms at Burger King (alas the force fries are finished boo) and then went back for my second showing of Mandalorian And Grogu.

Trailers were mostly ones I’d see before. There was Hunger Games, Spider Man and Supergirl. Plus there were ones new to me.

Heart Of The Beast: Wilderness survival with Brad Pitt and a dog. Not my thing, but valid of his character saying he shot someone who hurt his dog.
Pressure: World War II film about how weather affected the d-day landings. Looks like it’s done well but not something I’d watch at the cinema.
The End Of Oak Street: I’d seen a trailer for it before but this was a different one. A neighbourhood finds itself back in time… with dinos. Looks like it could be good
The Odyssey: I’m sure I saw this one online cause it’s clear that Robert Paterson’s character and Tom Holland is gonna spawn toxic yaoi. I’m so gonna see it.

Anyway onto films, first being Disclosure Day

I’m not sure when my next cinema trip is gonna be. I had planned to go next week but the hospital trip is between two planned streams. Wednesday might have been Angels Egg and Friday might have been Jurassic Park, but obviously both are unlikely. So next time might not be until Supergirl. But we’ll see.

It did feel appropriate to start this months pass with Mandalorian and Grogu and end it (unless I see something before Saturday) with it too.

On the way back home I saw some cute ducklings! Which I posted on insta along with pics of other things. They’re such cute lil fluffballs.

I had to get some stuff for mum once I got back so I popped in the sweet shop after the co-op and was so thrown off cause the girl there said I had a nice voice (that she could listen to for hours and read audio books) and ??? Cause I’ve always hated my voice so that was really bizarre.

I’m gonna watch the seapeekay charity stream (protecting voice artists from AI) and then watch Brokenwood and maybe watch more Tales of 85 or something.
shadowhive: (The Void)
The past few nights have been ā€˜fun’. I dunno if it’s cause of the recent storms but head has been achy as have eyes along with the depression of recent nights. It kinda feels like each one feeds into the others make them worse, even though now the storms have eased but whatever.

The promised Doctor Who Christmas special has been cancelled… though it seems it never actually existed to begin with. Which ugh. And now it seems there won’t be a new series for awhile which makes the mess of the finale even worse.

I have done a few things in the nights in attempts to distract my brain. I’m listened to Welcome To Night Vale again at last and I’m mostly caught up which is good. I’ve really been intrigued by the central murder mystery and I’m curious how it’ll be resolved.

Wednesday I managed to watch Touch Me which was very much a ā€˜what did I just watch movie’ but that’s to be expected when the main premise is a tentacled alien that can calm anxiety with a touch. (And fucks too.) I love that the alien was pansexual, having sex with both men and women. But yeah it was really wild and strange.

Last night I watched the special features on the disc which was a collection of things the director did. The shirt films were pretty good, all relating to technology (a woman’s consciousness uploaded, another woman making a connection with a holographic dating app in a future, a guy makes a connection with a self driving car). The web series Kappa Force was less good but still pretty unhinged.

Today my head went achy again once the food shop came which… ugh. But at least this morning I woke with midna on my bed which was rare.

I did look on the switch eshop and did an impulse buy of plague inc. I had the game on the odd tablet I had, but I’ve not been able to play for awhile. I did a few games while waiting on the food shop, but damn. Bacteria and virus were pretty easy, but the fungus seems harder. I’ll probably go on it again soon, it’s a good thing to do that doesn’t need much focus.

Next week I’m gonna try and watch some things. Cause Springwatch has finished (and Taskmaster) and the footballs started not much is gonna be on. So I wanna start watching some things. I’m thinking of Three Pines (cause of Joshua Odjick) and finally starting From.

(And, of course, in the nights watch more blu rays and such. I do wanna finish Welcome To Derry but it’s not a show to watch when mood is low.)

Plus there’s meant to be a new directors cut of the second X-Files film, though apparently it’s been delayed.

Tomorrow I should be going to see Disclosure Day and maybe something else depending on how I feel (I’m hoping for Mandalorian And Grogu though it really depends on my head).

I’m sure I had other thoughts but they’re gone.
shadowhive: (Sheik Triforce)
Another da6 another post, this one should be fairly short though.

This morning was another stint at the library though it was quiet. I just read another one of Poirot Investigates and two of the free comic book days comics (Masters Of The Universe and Spider and friends) both of which were pretty good.

When I got back I decided to call and chase after the hospital appointment. At first it seemed like it had been booked by mistake. Because I’d gotten in earlier than my appointment time last time it first seemed like it was a misbooking. But after the lady looked into it I’d had it marked down as having to come back a month later for the test again. So, one it seems I’m just getting the same test again which feels a bit pointless and two, why didn’t they bother to tell me that ā€˜oh you ight have to come back for it again in a month’. That second one really annoyed me and she agreed, I should’ve been told that. Ugh. (But at least I wasn’t on hold for ages either, or sent between numbers like last time)

At least I was able to shift the time from 4:50 to 1:50 which is much better (and means we won’t have to worry about getting back). On the plus side it also means I can pop in the Forbidden Planet, see if they have the Masters Of The Universe movie tie in comic (or a figure).

Then there was the Nintendo Direct. It wasn’t as exciting as I hoped though there were some good things. (And the Nintendo uk stream froze part way through.) Splatoon Raiders looks pretty fun and Pokopia is getting a new ability to dive underwater (and an expansion pass). But perhaps most exciting was the long held rumour of an Ocarina Of Time remake being confirmed. It was only a teaser, but it has a release date of this year so I’m sure we’ll learn more soon. I wonder if it’s just a graphical overhaul or if they’re gonna add/change things. I guess we’ll see. I’m sure a direct specific to it will happen soon, especially with a release of this year. (There is a raiders one at the end of the month.)

Tonight though depression has rolled in once again. It’s happened a lot over the past nights, coupling with the low energy it’s just made my mood so low and I struggle to shake it. It’s so annoying I just wish it would shoo.

Meh.

Tomorrow I’ve got another stupid call but then the rest of the day (and Thursday) is largely free. So maybe I’ll watch Touch Me or something tomorrow night, if my mood doesn’t mess up again.
shadowhive: (5SOS Luke Star)
The weekend ended up being extremely low energy at the nights so I didn’t do as much as I’d hoped. I pretty much either crashed energy wise or my eyes went achy or both. So I didn’t do the things I was hoping to do on the nights. Ugh. But I did watch an ep of The Pitt on Friday. (How many scrubs has Whittaker gone through already?)

However this weekend was also summer games fest, which was a load of gaming reveals. Summer Game fest itself was Friday but there were other streams over the weekend. There were plenty of interesting games revealed including, but not limited to.

*Star Trek Shadow Frontier, a Star Trek horror game with Ro Laren
*Clockwork Revolution, a cool steampunky time travel game (with a robot dog!)
*Fable, a new trailer revealing Hayley Atwell is playing the villain
*Grace Seasons, a Stardew type farming game… that’s also a murder mystery
*Bad Magpie, a game where you play as a mischievous magpie (giving Untitled Goose Game vibes)
*vivarium, a beautiful looking hand drawn game that gives Ghibli vibes
*Alien Isolation 2 and Control Reaonant (both making me wanna go back the original games)
*Saw Genesis, a Saw game set… 100 years ago which ??

Plus there were new trailers for Star Wars Galactic Racer (ahhh a nautolan!) and Zero Company which both look cool.

(I’m so sure I’ve forgotten so many other cool/interesting games, I know I missed at least two. Showcases cause I didn’t realise they were on).

Plus the wholesome direct has tees with proceeds going to a trans charity.

Nintendo has a direct coming tomorrow so I’m hoping for some good reveals there too. (I still need Hyrule Warriors)

Today was a trip to town which I wasn’t sure would happen (cause of rain and feeling off last night). It was Ocean with David Attenborough and Scary Movie which was a weird contrast, it was also funny both were on the same screen and I was only one seat away from where I sat in each.

The most exciting thing trailers wise was seeing a trailer for Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma because it meant we’ve getting a uk release for it. I didn’t think we would, especially with Leviticus being a no show but it seems we are. I’m so curious about it, it looks so weird. (Plus Gillian Anderson is always a plus)

The whole trip today ended up being free cause the ticket machines were out of order and the food in Burger King was a points redeem. (I’d gave got a demogorgon figure from smyths but it seems none were there despite the site saying they had 2)

Next cinema trip should be Saturday which’ll be Disclosure Day along with Mandalorian and Grogu, then maybe Angel’s Egg Wednesday (depending on mood, maybe with something else when listings go up, I might rewatch Masters Of The Universe if I can).

When I got back there was a letter and, ugh. It’s another hospital appointment and this time it’s late. But I also noticed it said it’s the exact same test I had when I was there last time. So I’m gonna call up tomorrow after the library stint and a: find out if it’s a mistake and 2: see if there’s a better time. I’m thinking it might be a,test in the same department just another machine, but if so why couldn’t they have done that last time? Ugh it’s so annoying (plus it’s next week which is part good cause momey will be in, but part annoying).

Also apparently there’s a new Poirot series coming from the bbc? Which will be.. interesting.

Tonight I’m gonna rest up for library/call/Nintendo direct.

So I had hoped to do this post last night, had even started it, but I totally crashed last night, first tuning out then going zzz completely.

Wednesday night ended up being low energy again. I pretty much just set up the laptop to transfer switch 2 caps over (oop there’s over 6000 each on pokopia and Tomodachi life, I’ve gotta go through and delete a bunch now) and watched the last two Amazing Digital Circus eps that were on Netflix.

Yesterday was a trip to town for Masters Of The Universe (and Amazing Digital Circus). I didn’t do much beforehand just got more cat food from b and m, picked up Sleep Token tees from Primark and gettting noms. I also went in Smyths but I couldn’t see the demogorgon they were meant to have (the Care Bears were Lucas and Mike not Dustin like I hoped, but I did get a Funko of a plant and Kane from Alien, with a chestburster on his face).

I love the guy at the cinema, he said I’d be able to see the earlier showing of Digital Circus (I wasn’t sure causa timing so it saved me sitting around for an hour) and up he loved Mandalorian season 3 too! (Which is oddly rare). Though it’s odd he hasn’t seen the film despite literally working in a cinema showing it,

The showing for Masters Of The Universe was pretty quiet, I think there was only about 10 of us which felt a bit of a shame, but then maybe other showings did better. By contrast The Amazing Digital Circus showing was pretty full. The only showing of something that was fuller was Iron Lung, but hey it’s good that people are coming to see this stuff in cinemas.

Trailers were largely ones I’d seen before, so there was Supergirl, Spiderman and The Odyssey.also one called One Night Only but the premise seems strange (like there’s no way humans would have sex be legal for one night of the year). I missed some of the Digital Circus trailers but there was one for Angel’s Egg (I’m kinda curious) and, ironically Masters Of The Universe. (I am curious what the other trailers were).

Also before I went in someone came from one of the other screens and I heard The Mandalorian And Grogu music which made me wanna see it again. Maybe when I see Disclosure Day next Saturday. (But I digress)

Before going into the films, if you’re seeing Masters Of The Universe there is both a mid and post credits scene.

Having said that thoughts ahoy! (Shouldn’t be too spoilery though)

Next cinema trio should be Monday to see the new Scary Movie but also an Attenborough documentary on the Ocean and I’m a sucker for the sea. Then I’m hoping to see Disclosure Day once my money goes in.

This weekend there’s some gaming things (summer game fest and x-box direct) but I’m also hoping to watch stuff. The original Scary Movie is on prime so I’m hoping to see it before the new one (oddly 2, 3 and 5 are too but not 4). I might try and do a run over the next week + if I can find 4 (I’ve not seen 5). And I wanna try and watch Pizza Movie or Touch Me. We’ll see.

I might finally get back to The Pitt tonight too and start Criminal Minds Saturday (cause Connor Storrie is in it) and continue spider-noir (it’s really good so far!). And try and finish Welcome To Derry(watch more Tales Of 85 and Heated Rivalry, but we’ll see what I fit in)
shadowhive: (Alex Emo)
Huzzah the heat has stopped! We got rain the other night and since then it’s cooled down considerably, thank fuck because that heat was just… too much.

Monday I headed to town to use the Morrisons vouchers. They had Grogu plates so I got one and they also had a Star Wars Funko mystery box,.. which turned out to be two different Ahsoka’s. B and M didn’t have the lollipops I was looking for but they did have the Stranger Things carrier bag that I’ve been looking for this November! Yipee!

It did make me tired though so I didn’t do much when I got back home. Though ugh my mood plummeted over the night for no reason (and of course when I put something on to distract me, an ep of [redacted] it was depressing too which didn’t help).

Tuesday was a library stint so I caught up on the last two Fantastic Four comic, read a chapter of Heated Rivalry and read some of the Eighth Doctor special magazine.

(Speaking of I watched one of the special features from the movie disc, the making of and ugh… it was so odd. It was less directly about the movie more the journey and attempts to get there and didn’t have a single actor in it which just felt so odd.)

There was also a reveal of new Lego PokĆ©mon sets and there’s 12 of them. They are a bit blocky, (I mean look at gengar he’s essentially a cube!) but I like them, especially that there’s a Bulbasaur! (And thankfully in a cheaper set.) though it is odd how the squirtle and mew have odd things with them (car and drone respectively). They’re also smart play and apparently sound just as iffy as the Star Wars ones which is a shame. But! At least this time they’ve done a better job covering where the brick goes, so there’s no unsightly gaps.

Yesterday my glasses also broke. The arm came away suddenly which was annoying but at least useable. (Albeit with a hat to keep it in place.) This morning I went to the opticians (after the rain) and was told it’d be Ā£25 cause it would be new frames. I’d not bought my wallet so had to come back… and when I did the lady up just did it for free. So that was good cause that would’ve been an annoyance.

Now I’m gonna finish A Taste Of Murder and then some more of the movie special features and then finishing Amazing Digital Circus so I’m ready for tomorrow.

Plus I wanna transfer screenshots from the switch 2 cause it’s full again. I don’t get why it won’t let you expand the memory associated with screencaps to take more (even more oddly the memory card has the same screenshot space as the switch 2 itself, on the switch it had way more which ??)

Tomorrow is a town trip, to pick up Sleep Token tees from Primark and see Masters Of The Universe and the Amazing Digital Circus thing… unless the storm comes back.

I leave with two pics, the Lego tuxedo cat (I’ve not got a pic with Midna yet) and a lil guy we saw last week on a walk.

So I had intended to go out Saturday but the heat was just too much. Thankfully staying in meant I could watch the Hades concert stream which was pretty cool, especially the siren songs. It did make me wanna replay the game, though I was too flop for that (and needed to finish a fall guy quest and still need to clear screencaps) but maybe soon.

And I did end up watching films on tv. I watched Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (probably cause of Disclosure Day, but I really loved the spaceships and it’s nice to have friendly aliens) and Ticket To Paradise (which was pretty good).

Sunday was watching Gone Fishing on Dave (I’m so sad still about finding out Ted died a few weeks back), DND, then just being flop until Mock The Week and Spider Noir. I sense Spider Noir is gonna be one of my fav shows of the year and I have the songs stuck in my head.

Monday mums friend came which, as always, was annoying. I had considered doing the cinema trip after she went but my stomach felt a bit woozy. I think it’s from the chilli/cheeze bread I ate which is odd cause it was fresh.

In the night I did finally get back to Heated Rivalry, which was pretty good and I just wanna give Kip a hug.

Mail came too. Monday had a pretty fox qwertee, along with Exit 8’s blu ray. Then today the Dustin and Steve Funkos came, plus the Skeletor figure too.

And also! The fancy Project Hail Mary Steelbook went live on hmv so I snapped that up! Sure I messed up my orders after (I had to cancel the 4k I had ordered, but accidentally cancelled the soundtrack one instead).

I also did the Apple and Paramount trial subscriptions so if anyone has recs let me know, I think I’m gonna start Widow’s Bay tonight and Strange New Worlds this weekend.

Yesterday morning I had to cover at the library and it was so quiet, usually we get a few people, even if just a delivery but nope no one came. I just read Silverweed Road, finishing the third story (about a jerk con man) and the third (the best one about cuttlefish which was so great).

I had debated doing the cinema trip today and I ended up going so I saw Supergirl and Toy Story 5

Trailers see mostly things I’d seen before but there were new trailers for Cat In The Hat, Spiderman and Minions And Monsters so I do wanna see all of those. Forgotten Island looks pretty good too. I’m not sold on Dog Stars though (which is some post apocalyptic thing which.. eh). I was surprised that there’s a Paw Patrol movie with dinosaurs… and songs by the Backstreet Boys.

Annoyingly I did get caught in the heavy rain coming back so I got home looking drowned. Ugh.

The cinema listings Monday revealed that Bleach is getting an extra few showings (alas no more Ghost In A Shell) and it also revealed that we’re getting Backrooms Everything Must Go which has extra footage so I’m curious. And Perfect Life is out… but only two showings on Monday.

Which is annoying cause that’s when Seapeekay’s subathon is starting (it was meant to be tomorrow). I might miss the start for it, see some other things Friday but we’ll see.

I was gonna watch Wildhood last night (but that was before cinema plans) but I ended up completely worn out and ended up going zz (actually in a break while making this post) so alas I didn’t, hopefully sometime this week.

I might before the next cinema trip do a half year post on the cinema films and thoughts, I might do that before the next trip.

Today’s plan? Finally sort the switch 2 screencaps, go on the pokopia event and then Widow’s Bay and From tonight. Oh and watch the Splatoon direct I missed.
shadowhive: (5SOS Luke Pretty)
So after the post on Friday I pretty much flopped. Although I had meant to finish Welcome To Derry, I was just too tired to even consider it.

Saturday ended up being… a mixed bag to see the least.

On Friday I had an email from Argos about the big red event ending and they had the Lego tuxedo cat with 20% off.. But of course the timing was bad. However I tried to do the three payment thing, expecting to be rejected and it went through! So as well as picking up mums stuff I also picked that up.

(I spent yesterday and today doing the 20 bags to make her up and she’s so cute! I need to get a pic of her with Midna but she’s been hiding cause of the heat)

The trip was ok, it wasn’t too hot but was still tiring as always. After picking the stuff up we went round sainsburys and I got some mandalorian books (a colouring one, a search and find and a set of five small books I’ve not looked at). After having noms I set to work on the tuxedo cat, doing just over half the bags (and having a few breaks including a doze).

Also a delivery came which was a 5 Seconds Of Summer magazine they did, along with two packs of stickers (that I just saw got added to the us tour) and damn there was 20 stickers in each pack so I’m pretty sure I got most (but I’ve not checked)

In the night I put on the Doctor Who Movie which was pretty good! It had been awhile since I saw it. (I have the devil but I’m unsure if I even watched it, cause I saw it and the eps on the set somewhere else). It is a pretty good story and a fun time. But at the same time it does make me sad that it didn’t lead to anything at the time. I wish we’d got to see more with the Eight Doctor and the tardis is so gothic and grand. Plus… why was the master on trial with the daleks at the start anyway?

But I opened the post saying yesterday was a mixed bag snd that happend after the credits rolled. Because mum decided, completely out of nowhere, to be bitchy.

Again it comes down to doing stuff in the house. She wants something doing down here so I said to her, ā€˜ok I’ve done uni, pick a day and we can do it’ only the minute I said that she wants something else doing and something else and, again, she wants all of them doing at once. Which, is impossible but for some reason she can’t see that. She doesn’t want to do things one at a time or set a time to actually do them. Cue anrguement and frustration and just… ugh. Why does she start these things at night. (This was about 10pmish)l I dunno why I need to always repeat with her how my brain ā€˜works’ what would help and her just outright ignoring it all the damn time.

Naturally my energy and mood plummeted so I didn’t want to do anything and that continued to this morning.

But ugh it feels like that’s a trait with people. Why is it when I say to someone ā€˜ok let me know when a good day/time to do x’ they never follow up on it? It’s a sadly common trait and it always just puts me off doing anything.

Plans for this week. Mums friend is coming tomorrow (ugh but we can use Morrisons vouchers with her bus ticket), I’ve got a library stint Tuesday and I’m seeing Masters Of The Universe (Thursday is the plan currently). Plus watching another blu ray (I’m thinking Touch Me), Amazing Digital Circus (and maybe Tales From 85) and maybe other stuff,
shadowhive: (Taniel Wet)
The week has continued to be low energy, mostly due to the heat.

After the last post the Lego Anzellan ship I ordered came, so I spent Tuesday building that and it’s a really nice lil ship. I love the lil Anzellans so much and they’re so cute. The only thing is they’re so small they can’t interact with anything (even more odd as they give them a full range of toys but they can’t hold them so ??). Also one of the pieces flew off again, like with the x-wing (and two engine pieces, I’ve found one but..) oddly it’s not on the site to order a replacement.

Wednesday I made a start on my pile of blu rays that came recently and watched Obex. It’s about a guy that gets transported into the world of a computer game, on a quest to save his dog. The main issue is that it takes half the film to get to the titular Obex (and spent, mostly, with one guy) but once you get there (but he has someone to bounce off of) it’s really good. It’s just a shame it takes so long to get there, but at least the dog is a cutie.

I was intending to watch through the blu ray pile one a week but I added another thing to it (oops) a film called Touch Me which has a tentacled alien so of course I’m intruiged (it also comes with a bonus film, Hypochondriac, and a booklet called Queerness Made Flesh)

We had to get stuff from the co-op and, to my surprise, they finally had PokƩmon cards so I impulse got some (one yesterday, one when I went back today) and the art is so good and ah! One of the ones I got was mareep!

Last night I decided to watch Gonjiam Haunted Asylum on shudder and damn! It was so good and done so well. Easily one of the best found footage films I’ve seen in awhile.

After that I finally watched Welcome To Derry. The plan was to watch both of the remaining eps together but I wasn’t up to it so just watched the first one. Damn though, that ep at the Black Spot was so horrific. Like what the fuck? I’m planning on watching the finale tonight.

Today was the town trip and I went in a few places before the cinema. I didn’t get some of the things I was intending to (I saw there were Star Wars lollipop collectibles at b and m but I didn’t see them, I might look Monday, Smyths didn’t have the Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper Funko and the entertainer didn’t have the Young Jedi Adventures ship, Burger King didn’t have anything, though maybe that ones for the best cause I just ebayed the last two). But I did get other stuff.

The clearance place had the micro galaxy squadron Sith Infiltrator (Darth Maul’s ship from Ep I), a black series Princess Leia (in her iconic white outfit) and a pumbaa plushie which was more of an impulse by. Smyths hana randomly reduced Black Series Vader and the squark van. (I still don’t understand the figures for Stranger Things, how they hardly make anyone and only do one wave.) and Asda had a tee of Mandalorians.

At the cinema I got the combo with the cup and the tin (I wasn’t given a choice of tin but I got the capper of Grogu with the scope which is cute). It seems the At-at’s were gone though which was a shame but I guess they didn’t have many to begin with.

The trailers for Backrooms were mostly new, bar Ice Cream Man (don’t wanna see) and Disclosure Day (which I do). There was also a new trailer for Evil Dead Burn, which does a better job of making me wanna see it, plus the new Insidious film (which does look pretty good).

But anyway, Backrooms! (Under the cut, but I don’t say much about it beyond what’s in the trailers)

After the film I went in Asda then Poundland to get a drink and it was then I realised I was flagging big time. There was no way I could make it through my planned second watch of Mandalorian And Grogu so I just came home. I dunno if it was cause of the heat or lugging around cat food or both (along with the prospect of going to sainsburys tomorrow to pick something up for mum, ugh).

Ah well, maybe I will rewatch another time. Next film trip will be Masters Of The Universe next week (along with Amazing Digital Circus maybe, or Scary Movie but it depends).

I did nap once I got back, but I still feel pretty tired. I’m just gonna watch stuff on tv then hopefully Welcome To Derry and bundle up.

Tomorrow is that annoying trip, plus hopefully watching the Doctor Who Movie.

And I just opened up the Strnager Things van and it’s such a nice set, it’s a shame they didn’t bother making many figures for it. (For reference, they did Eleven, Dustin and a demo as figures, plus Steve with this and Robin with a bigger set of the studio) It’s so baffling. I might get have to find the Dustin at this scale so Steve isn’t alone, if I can find him (I do have the bigger one cause I was gifted it but the 4 inch one seems hard to find. Fuck they really screwed the distribution over). Oh! But I do have a Will though, but that’s a season 1 Will.
shadowhive: (The Child Soup)
So as anyone in the uk can attest, we’ve been hit by a sudden heatwave this weekend, which is so completely and utterly draining (plus it’s making me feel so melty). It shows no sign of leaving which also sucks so I feel this week will be mostly avoiding heat and staying inside (until Friday anyway)

As such the weekend has been mostly uneventful. I had veggie sushi cause we got avocados when we went to town, which is always nice. I watched Blithe Spirit on sky arts which was fun.

Then we watched Look Who’s Boating, a special feature on the Doctor Who boxset which was fun. It saw the fifth doctor, Nyssa and Tegan’s actors go on a boating trip, which was funny. They did a road trip thing on one of the other boxsets and this was basically a successor to that (with added cooking, plus a doctors table type segment at the end) and it was a fun time. In the night I watched the Tales Of The Tardis version of Earthshock which was pretty good. It’s still one of the best fifth doctor eps but poor Adric.

I’m almost finished with the special features now, there’s just an escape room (I watched the other one last night) and an interview with Adric’s actor and I’m done…

Which is good timing cause the new Doctor Who Movie came yesterday. (Though it got delivered next door by mistake.) it’s the 4K steelbook which is very fancy. I dunno why I decided on that I don’t usually bother with steelbook or 4ks but… ah well. I’ll probably watch Saturday.

And speaking of Who I did listen to an audio while I was melting, Time In Office, which was a fun time. And appropriate cause it’s set during a gap in Frontios (it’s funny Tegan’s made Earth Ambassador).

But other than that nothing exciting, though Death Valley and Brokenwood Mysteries are back, both of which are fun times. (Though the latter means iplayering last nights springwatch).

Gaming wise I’ve not done much, just Tomodachi Life (there’s finally a second child), some Fortnite and the pad games (I need to focus more on magic arena, I keep falling behind on it). And dreamlight cause there’s a star path I’m trying to speed finish.

I also started Silverweed Road and this guy in the first story is such a jerk I’m praying on his downfall, which feels inevitable

This morning I did submit the uni postponement thing so hopefully that goes ok. Cause ugh there was no way I could actually do the assignment, not with this heat coming through and my anxiety brain being terrible. Part of me is hoping to hear soon but also… eh my heart hasn’t been in this uni course. Part cause of the noises making my head worse and the medical stuff but also… I dunno.

I digress.

Plans this week are to finish the Who ray stuff (tonight), start going through the blu ray pile (tomorrow), welcome to Derry (Thursday, depending), Doctor Who Movie watch (Saturday) and dnd (Sunday). I also wanna watch something on shudder and prime, plus more Tales Of 85/Amazing Digital Circus (and I still need to watch more Heated Rivalry and The Beauty).

Friday should, hopefully, be the trip to the cinema for Backrooms. The listings aren’t live though so I dunno what the second film might be. I’ve pretty much given up on Passenger (from what I’ve seen it’s bad sadly) unless an afternoon showing is added. I might watch Mandalorian and Grogu again if nothing else. At least the cinema will be nice and cool!

Masters Of The Universe is getting two preview showing days next week (Wednesday and Thursday) so I might see it before the planned Friday I was aiming for, but we’ll see. I’m so hyped for it, it has such Guardians type vibes and yeah He Man is hot.

I also wanna try and write more but ugh, I’ve had such trouble for months ficcing.

My problem tends to be I’ll get an idea and a burst of creative energy, writing a decent chunk in one go (until I either get tired or something else comes up) and then I just… don’t go back to it. I just can’t seem to get back in the zone which is so frustrating and then the cycle repeats. I just wanna finish some of my WIPs, not constantly add to them but I just… can’t and it’s so incredibly frustrating.

Ugh.

Anyway I’m just gonna flop some more now and then wait on the food delivery.
shadowhive: (Mandalorian Darksaber)
Before getting onto the crux of the post I did get the uni email yesterday… at almost 6, right when I was waiting on dinner to finish cooking. When I did check later the info was mostly vague and, of the mentioned options… none had a time limit that ended today. They said the dates were on or just after the assessment which is next week. Ugh. I’m gonna look them over properly tomorrow.

The past two nights have ended up with me going tired/headachy. So the most I did each night (instead of much) was one ep of Amazing Digital Circus (which was good, though ugh it seems fandom has harassed the creator which sucks) and Tales from 85 (a Dustin and Steve centric ep ahh!)

(I also read the SFX Tales From 85 article on the way home today and… they repeatedly called Lucas Caleb like ???)

But anyway!

Cut to the main of the post which is today, which was a trip to town to see The Mandalorian and Grogu. I decided it would be best to go to the 9:07 train only to get there and find that the trains were only every hour (apparently due to strikes). Apparently over the course of the day the trains got worse because by the time it came to coming back it was a replacement bus service that didn’t even stop at stations (it missed a person at the station we got off at).

So yeah we had to wait for half an hour longer. Plus it was really warm which was… ugh.

Still the train did come so we got to the cinema in time for the first showing! But by the time I got there I was frazzled from the train (plus full from breakfast mum insisted I have) so I didn’t even look at the stuff they had. They had the AT-AT but I didn’t see anyone in our showing with it (some did have the popcorn tins, which they also had). I’m hoping they have them next week when I go to Backrooms and Passenger.

(Side note I had considered going back tonight for Passenger but noped that when I saw there were train issues. Knowing my luck I’d be stuck in town all night)

Anyway. Trailers were all new to me (bar Disclosure day but I’d only seen half) and all have made me wanna see. There was Spiderman, Supergirl, Disclosure Day and Masters Of The Universe.

Thoughts on The Mandalorian under the cut (between -ā€˜s so people can avoid spoilers).

Next cinema trip should be to see Backrooms on Friday, or Passenger sooner if it’s only showing for a week (hopefully it won’t be but then Shelby oaks and whistle only had tiny runs so…)

Post film we wandered round town going in a few places. The main thing was Primark and I found they had a Sleep Token tee! So of course I had it (they have three more on the site, I might order them). Surprisingly, while checking sizes, I found there was also a Bullet For My Valentine one which was a surprise.

After wandering some more places we headed to Burger King for noms. I did overdo it a bit on the food (the meal+ loaded fries + a sundae) but I am kicking myself a bit. We got the mandalorian cups but when I just checked both were ones I had (I thought I’d at least got a third). But damn the lady checked what they had and there was a miscommunication. If I’d have left the cups while she checked I could have had the blue (and best) one but because I took them I couldn’t just switch. Damnit. She did suggest I get another meal and take it home, but in this weather? I was gonna eBay them but since I’m still missing one other…

(If anyone knows someone that has doubles and would be willing to trade, I have the green and brown ones)

After that was coming home on the bus which had no air conditioning so made us more tired. So now I’m home and am very flop from the heat and carrying fruit mum got from a stall.

I dunno what I’m gonna do tonight after the flower show. I was gonna get back to The Pitt but if me (or mum) am too tired I might just flop or watch something else or… who knows.
shadowhive: (Foolish Sleepy)
So yesterday I had a call from uni.

Last week when I had the first letter about the hospital appointment I sent them a message about it, but the email bounced back and I didn’t expect to hear anything about it. Yesterday I had a call and it discussed options to do with the current course. I was given three options but my head was feeling fuzzy at the time (and I’d just eaten) but I was told not to worry, I’d be sent an email with the info about them and links about what to do that afternoon.

It’s about 24 hours later and I’ve still not received anything. It wouldn’t matter too much but she expressly said one option had a time limit: Friday. And she said to contact her if I had any questions..l but didn’t give me any contact info (and I, assuming the email would come through and be enough, didn’t ask) and just.. ugh.

My mood pretty much collapsed last night too, not helped by a nap which I had and woke feeling worse after it.

I had hoped to watch welcome to Derry but the bad mood, combined with a headache meant I didn’t. (I did watch an ep of amazing digital circus before my head worsened.

Ugh.

Good thing though, the new SFX came yesterday which is just another reminder I’ve not watched interview with the vampire. It did let me know that Touch Me is out, which I didn’t realise it would be. I might have to order that soon to see if it’s good.

As for today? I’d planned to do uni stuff but cause I’m in limbo after the call I just shut down until it was time to walk Naryu.

(And then I noticed my stranger things bracelet has lost the charms, I hope they’re just somewhere in the house. All that’s left is the d20)

Hopefully tonight’ll be better (and tomorrow) but right now I just feel… ugh.
shadowhive: (Cameron Doctor)
So yesterday was the hospital trip which ended up being tiring.

First off the bus we got on wasn’t the one that went straight to the hospital so we had to switch in Wolverhampton anyway (apparently the direct one was redirected so it would’ve missed the stop anyway. On the way I did some reading (I took three books which was excessive perhap) and I ended up reading the first of the shirts in Poirot Investigates. It’s wild that one of the opening lines is ā€˜ā€œthat’s queerā€ I ejaculated suddenly’ which sounds made up but it absolutely is

We did a lil bit in town, which wasn’t too eventful. Sadly Forbidden Planet didn’t have the Maul comics I hoped for, but they did have the Mercenary Droid Funko so I got it cause of the student discount they have. I got mum an Ewok village set of doorables from the entertainer (she loves ewoks) and she noticed they had free Mandalorian posters but the door, so if anyone wants one go to an Entertainer!

We were way early when we got to the hospital so I went in the nearby TK getting another Agatha Christie book (Murder Of Roger Ackroyd), a Funko of Luthen from Andor and a discounted Anakin figure.

We got to the hospital early and, surprisingly I was seen early (I guess it helped it was quiet). The tests that the doctor did were a lot like opticians ones (I think only one or two were different) and then the second one (which he got me in early) was also one done at the opticians. It all felt a little… pointless. I guess I’d assumed it’d be some advanced scanner, not just their own one the optician had. (Apparently I’ll have to go back for results at some point)

I still don’t have any answers but at least it meant we got out early and home… though when we got to town we’d just missed a bus so had to wait an hour. We wandered around a bit and found out that Primark has MCR tees (the cover of Three Cheers and a black parade one).

By the time I got home I was pretty flop and low energy so I just ended up tuning out a bit.

But I did get a notification from the cinema. I’d been told Friday they were getting Mandalorian stuff but didn’t know what, so I just assumed it’d be like the Mario stuff (a popcorn tin and cup) and I was right but not just them. There’s a bundle of both a tin and cup (three designs of the former, five toppers for the latter) but there’s one other thing.

They’re getting the AT-AT popcorn bucket.

Now I’ve never really understood the fixation with making crazy popcorn containers. Most just seem baffling and completely impractical. (We don't even usually get them and often it’s just odeon and they sell out crazy fast) . However this one does look so cool. It has lights and sounds and has articulated legs. I never expected to even see it and now the cinema is getting it… I might be tempted. Maybe.

And they just emailed saying they have Mandalorian themed cocktails but say nothing about what they actually are. (Why do they never say what themed cocktails are?)

(I am annoyed though that they are getting Passenger… and only showing it once a day, at 8:45pm damnit. I’d hoped it’d get decent times considering how much I’d seen the trailers but nošŸ˜”)

Anyway. I wish today could have been a lazy day to recover from being outside, but instead I had a library shift to cover. Ugh. I just read two more free comic book day comics and one chapter of Heated Rivalry. But there were two Agatha Raisin books from the buying section that looked untouched. Plus mum spotted a book called Silverweed Road and I was intrigued so I’ve borrowed that to check out.

Anyway that’s it really. I’m just gonna snuggle up and maybe doze with Midna. (But ahh! The house on the corner has two kittens that look just like Midna and they were in the window and they were so cute and smol and baby🄹)
shadowhive: (Default)
The weekend ended up being so… ugh. But especially yesterday where I was drained and anxiety ridden and ended up having to skip dnd cause I didn’t feel peoplely in the slightest. I also ended up going to bed early but not sleeping for like… three hours +. Which…ugh.

We’re heading out in about 30 minutes (from now) so we should be able to look around the place near the hospital (not that there’s much there, I’d still rather have stopped off in town to check forbidden planet but…)

Mail did arrive this morning so at least we didn’t miss out. It was a doctor who vinyl from eBay mum decided to get, Max Warp, an 8th Doctor audio which has Duncan from Blue (and oddly it’s a misprint it’s meant to be a splatter vinyl but it’s a solid orange instead). Also came is the blu rays I got from that hmv offer I mentioned weeks back. I settled on getting: Broadcast Signal Intrusion, Obex, Something In The Dirt and We’re All Going To The World’s Fair. Once everything is settled I’m gonna set a day and that’s gonna be a day to weekly go through the blu rays. (It might be a midweek day cause of the Friday cinema trips planned for the next three weeks).

I still need to go through the things I planned to watch too but getting the appointment threw me off so much.

(I had considered getting some Who audios from the big finish warehouse clearance but again, the appointment stuff threw up me off and I missed out, damnit)

I did end up watching The Twin Dilemma Saturday, finishing the Doctor Who season 21 boxset (the episodes anyway, there’s two special features discs including the tales of the tardis version of Earthshock which I might watch the weekend).

Twin is consistently rated as one of the worst Who eps and… yeah it’s not the best but I dunno if I’d say it’s the worst either. There are issues with it which do make it stand out as bad, mostly to do with the sixth doctor. His regeneration has made him erratic, even violent and while I can see what they were going for with it, it’s obviously a mistake (especially strangling Peri). It doesn’t help that, since this is the last ep of the season, this is the impression you’ve got of Six, without other eps to soften him right after.

There’s also the wardrobe with Six’s ridiculous outfit (his actor had wished for a black outfit to blend in but was overruled). But not only that both Peri and a one of character go in and end up in questionable outfits too.

I did like Lang, the police character that ends up coming along for the ride and there were some nice scenes at the police Center when the titular twins were kidnapped (shame they essentially give up on the pursuit) and there’s nice model work. I did like the Jacondans design, but didn’t read that they were meant to be birds at all (probably due to the lack of wings). And there is a nice scene at the end where the doctor loses his mentor. And, even though the doctor’s attitude is terrible it is acted well at least.

But it is pretty telling that this was an ep with behind the scenes issues. (The story needed to be written, they had issues with studio time and prep as a result) and it’s one of those where the issues really show sadly.

I should rank the eps now I’ve finished the boxset but I don’t really have the time to ponder on it. I’d say Resurrection Of The Daleks was probably my fav of the season though.

Off now though. I don’t expect to have any answers, I just expect to be waiting around and be tired and annoyed.
