This is my first posting in any community...I was hoping to find somewhere where I could post my poetry, and recieve comments and critism. Thanks.

Slipping Away

I’ve lost my way,
I don’t know what to say.
I’ve tried so hard, just to let you in,
But you’d better notify, my next of kin.

You’re with me here,
Telling me not to fear,
That it’ll be alright in the end,
But I don’t know how to bend.

You’re here helping me to fight,
Allowing me to see the light.
I wish it were more than enough,
But life has gotten just too tough.

I’m slipping down hill,
Going to swallow these pills.
I need you here desperately,
Please come now and fight for me.

I’m so afraid,
And I can’t be brave.
You’re not the one who failed,
I was the one who bailed.

I wish you were here now,
It’s time for my final bow,
This is my last song,
It’s time to move on…

I’ve lost my way,
I don’t know what to say.
I’ve tried so hard, just to let you in,
But you’d better notify, my next of kin.

It’s time for me to go,
I just want you to know,
That even though I’m gone…
I want you to live on…


I've also tried to make this into a song...but I am not a song writer sadly...

Can't you hear it?
Hear the sound
Of a lovers sigh
Over a long lost kiss
The eyes embrace
Of unrequited love
The hearts beat
Faster than time
With the touch of a hand
So tender and
And missed
Quiet
Listen
Listen
As soft as the heart
Beats of time
The ground knows it
The trees bow in line
Buzzing bees
Bring the gossip forth
As the flower is picked
By caressing hands
Can't you see it
Can't you?
Close your eyes
Steady your hand
Your heart will say
What you head can't understand.

She sits
Lonely
Staring down the road
Knowing he won't come
Slowly
She sips
Holding tears back
As they glisten in her eye
She can see
Through her mind
Happy
Playing
Running on the beach
That woman gets to stand by him
While she sat alone
Getting up
She doesn't bother looking at her watch
A gift from him
Showing the minutes she's sat waiting alone
A quarter past she walks down the road
Trying to smile and laugh with her friends
Her mind races
As she chokes on the tears
How did it come to this
Waiting so long
Lonely
On the corner cafe
The other woman

Wipe your face clean
Just one more time
Pray to your God for forgiveness
For a helping hand
I'm sure He will see you through the troubles
How blind can you be
You praise this thing
He does nothing
How can you pray to Him?
How can you worship Him
As you wipe your face clean
Once again
No He wasn't the one that did it too you
In your world good is all that can come from Him
In your mind He actually cares

Wipe your face one more time
Say it to me once again
How great is He?
How will God help you out this time?

Will He lead the way to safety
Or will He condone the mob at your door
Torches burning
Pitchforks brandished high.

Go ahead
lecture me
How great is your God
How kind is He?
Where was He when it happened.
When will you see, if His hand helps you
It was His hand that lead the mob to your door.

Wipe your face clean
Once it hits the fan and sprays back at you
Deny the power your own hand has
Worship your God
Deny what you've done
What you did to make this pass.
Deny your own power
Just so you can deny the blame

Tell me one more time
How He'll help you
How I should believe in Him.
Here I'll hand you a cloth.
Can't you see
Look around this place
It's you and me
No one else will assist you
No one will wipe your face clean but yourself
Grovel to nothing.
Not even the machine you yourself made.
So, go on, wipe you face clean
It's hit the fan again and sprayed back onto you
This time
Tell me once more
How great and glorious is He
Who never lends you a hand.

DARK EMOTIONS


it hurts
this feeling i have
a silent love
never meant to be.
I feel like a weed
plucked from a garden
of flowers,
my roots torn
from the ground;
You tossed me
to the side
like i had
never been.
We loved for years,
and it took only seconds
to rip me apart.
You left me helpless
and deffenseless
in a heap on the floor.
But somehow
it left me wanting you more.
a weed
in a beautiful garden.
I guess i never
really belonged.

A QUIET DARK

a dieing sleep
an open wound
dank and dreary
in a crowded room.
depressing times
of heartache shattered
here the rain fall
clatter,clatter.
consciouse not,
in the depths of the mind.
an empty place,
a coma in time.
darkness falls,
you lay awake.
with the arousal of the night,
feel your body quake.
like tears of virgins,
passion is feared.
absorb the hopes,
pour out the years.
the moonlight gropes you,
while in bed.
ecstacy of the night
erased from your head.
time grows near,
and nothings left.
lost thoughts linger
on times not kept.
a silent abyss,
like empty swings in the park
we soon come to rralize,
we're all alone in a quiet dark.

The world is coming to an end as we know it
And we don't know a thing
When the sun comes up
In a day or two
Will the tears well up in your eyes
A cry rise from your lips
Will it be mourning for the night
Or love lost long ago
A corpse finally seen in sunlight

The world is ending as we know it
In the midnight hour
All of our dreams just may come true
Or fall from shattering heights
Without a scream uttered from their lips
Crashing into the ground
Knocking us out from the pain and misery

The world is ending as we know it
Will you be there with it
Standing side by side
Hand in hand
Or will you go and stand alone


The World is ending as we know it
And all I can think of this night
Is looking into your eyes
Is touching your face
Without you near me
It's not worth a thing
All the riches in the world turn to dust
The sceptors and crowns
The power held in hand
It all slips through our hand,
Faster than the sands of time

My mid-morning monotony

My caffeine shot in the morning
The end of the day cigarette

Crashing all around
This undercurrent
Dragging at feet

As it crashes and foams
Foams all around
The sand turns to rocks
Rocks as sharp as glass
Don't fall now
Whatever you do
Not to your knees
Not to your hands
The salty sea sputtering in your mouth
Just don't go down
But it all comes down
So swift
So sure
Nearly knocking you off your feet
Dragging at your feet
Slowly dragging you down
One unsure step
One step after the next
Just as another sand bar comes
Comes within grasp
Promises of safety
Security a sense of success
Down you'll go
The current wrapped
Wrapped around your feet
A coil tied so tight
Dragging
Dragged back to see
Pushed
Shoved around
An endless
Tumultuous
Whirlpool
Will it ever end
