Happy Bloom's Day

It's June 16th again!

I had to convince everyone on work that Bloom's Day was an actual holiday/celebration before I could get them to write "Happy Bloom's Day" on the Sepcial's Board. I'm sure some random person saw it.

I read a great article in the New Yorker about Joyce's grandson who has comeplete control over the Joyce Estate and the copyright for Ulysses and a number of Joyce's works. He rarely allows scholars to quote the copyrighted works, thus cutting into the amount of Joyce scholarship that's published.

He made some really good points.

It is just a book, I guess...

So today wasn't all that bad of a day. I got a raise at work and a paycheck.

I'm finished with school for the summer...

Not bad at all...

I think I want to talk to a Freudian Shrink about this re-occuring dream I keep having. I think it'd be funny.

We've had a lot of people visit this past sweek. It's been nice... I saw Phantom last night with my mom and Lindsay and the night before Jon came over and so did Lindsay's friend Amanda. I drank too much that night because I was done with classes and had a horrible hangover yesterday.

The only pretty ring time

My dad and step-mom came up tonight and took Lindsay and I out to Saffron for dinner. We got to order for them. After dinner we went next door to Tiffany's and I got my dad to buy me a ten dollar bottle of Delirium Nocturnum beer. I'd never had it before and think it's a really nice beer. I don't know all that much about beer other than what I like and don't like so my two cents aren't worth one.

Oh. I also like the new Flaming Lips album a lot. It's not fucking genius or anything but it is a lot of fun to listen to. Much more fun than their other albums. I've never really enjoyed an entire Flaming Lips album, there've always been strong dislikes that didn't allow me to listen to the album in its entirety. While I'm not saying this album is one-hundred percent listenable to, it's a close ninety. That new Built to Spill record is okay too. It's not all that good compared to their earlier work but it's grand compared to the rest of the music industry's collective shit stack.

So... ten dollar beer is nice. So are my parents.

The only one who will see this is me and you!

Ask me a question about each of the following:

1. Friends.
2. Sex.
3. Music.
4. Drugs.
5. Love.
6. LiveJournal.

No matter how rude, sexual, or confidential.
Then post this in your journal and see what questions you get asked!

OH IRONY!

It's weird not really having a TV. You get totally cut off from everything pop-culture. It feels really strange at first and you're bored but eventually it's really good for you... I don't recommend doing it forever or anything... Maybe just take a month off. It's just really strange how alientated you start to feel from the rest of the world without some constant reminder. A living entity that whispers into our ears from time to time. I guess I don't miss it.

It's strange listening to news on the radio. Without the visual there, you begin to make up your own.
