Bobcat Goldthwaite has been honing his skills behind the camera for a while now (See the cult hit 'Shakes The Clown' for an example), and he's about to premier a new film. In an interview in the Independent, he talks about his career and his new film. I will get the shocker to Sleeping Dogs out of the way: The film opens with a woman confessing that in college she gave a blowjob to a dog. Now, while that may tittilate some, and disgust others, it is not the central point of the film, it is just the hook that the film's concept depends on. Get past that.
Normally, I do not make public comments on religion. I belong to a faith that forbids proseltyzation, and I am of the personal opinion that unless I ask you, I'm not really interested in your spiritual life or lack of same. That having been said...I found this article on Fark. It initially caught my eye because I used to live in Wheaton, IL. as a child, and experienced directly much of the mindset the author cites. (As an aside, Wheaton College is considered one of the nation's premier Evangelical institutions.)
Please read this article slowly and carefully. Think about it before you react. I did, and I am glad to have done so. While I do not necessarily agree with the all of the author's points, I do agree with his main thesis, and would STRONGLY urge all of you who find yourself also in agreement to reproduce the link, and add your own opinions and arguments. In case you didn't know, Clay (aka Hard) restarted the Pervert's Row BBS a while ago. Anyway, one of the first threads to get started was another Sexy Jam. I contributed several pages to it as Jacob Marley, and like Clay and the others on the board I'm definitly wanting to see this jam continue. I figure there has to be one or two artist on this community, so I'm putting out the call for more people to get involved. So, just sign up for the board and call dibs.

So of course the next thing I decided to blog about was the fact that I finally took my cheap ass to the local anime/game shop in Towson and plunked down $26.00 bucks for Neverwinter Nights. OMFG. Once getting past the self-imposed 4 hour struggle to install it on my Gentoo Linux box, it plays nicely at about 34 FPS locally. We'll see what happens when I attempt to cruise out past the shoals. Any one playing NWN willing to take on a newbie (only at NWN, not at D&D, trust me!)? I generally prefer theieves (of course, ;*D> ) with some magic, perhaps a bard. I don't have any of the expansions, so base universe only for now. The interface for NWN is so damn sweet!
Perhaps some of the title's reference will slip out here some day...but again...sometimes, if you don't keep it private, but you do keep it close, it gets far enough to lessen the strain enough.
