I'm speaking of jewelry, of course, although I do enjoy the musical genre as well.

Right now, I'm wearing my class ring, my decoy ring, my griffin head torc bracelet, and my chainmail lanyard created for me by nicosian. I also have my hair up in a silver, two pronged hair fork thingy, created by Crafty Celts. They did my bracelet, too.

I was just thinking, in a civilization where metal was rare, I'd be wearing a king's ransom.

So I bought some deodorant over the internet. :) It's this handmade stuff off of Etsy. If you're not familiar, Etsy.com is a site where artisans hawk their handmade goods to people like me. nicosian has her store of fantastic goodies there. Anyway, hanging out with darkfurie and kaolyb piqued my interest in natural beauty products. So, while I was in a buying mood two days ago, I went ahead and decided to try this citrusy stuff I found on Etsy. It arrived today, and I must say, it smells rather nice.

Now if I can just stop sniffing myself long enough to go do something, we'll see how well it works. :)

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. I want to make it happen. So, as usual for one of my escapades, I'll begin with questions. I already asked who was in. So far darkfurie and kaolyb have stepped up, and I have no doubt that the list will grow, so we'll leave that one open and ask two more questions. To wit:

1. Where shall we go, as in, which Celtic sites would people like to see

and

2. When shall we go, and for how long.

Discuss.

But I'm not tired.

I started writing a story tonight. I'm not sure where it's going to go. I mean, I have a general idea, but already the characters are making me type things about themselves that I had no idea were coming. It's a cool feeling when your characters take over a story, but it's bizzare, too, in a way.

I fell down the stairs today and wrenched both of my shoulders while trying to catch myself. These were the shoulders that were hurting and popping anyway. I'm not old enough for this shit, that's all I have to say about that.

I want to go to Europe and tour the most famous of the Celtic archaeological sites. Anyone else up for such a trip?

Fall is arguably my favorite season out here. The air turns bright and glassy, with a clean taste like when your teeth first hit the skin of an apple. The oppressive, maddening heat of the summer dries up, and suddenly you can breathe outside again. People have new energy here in the fall.

I dig it.

In other news, I've been thinking about my friend photognome. During Dragon*Con I was honored to have him shoot several pictures of me on the balcony outside our party suite. He then did the same for my friend Cassie. I could see on her face that she and I were sharing the same feelings about the experience. He's a genius. He made us feel so beautiful that I don't have words for it. I haven't seen the pictures yet, because he took literally thousands of photographs during Dragon*Con, and he's enough of a professional to take his time and edit them properly before sending them out into the world. I can't wait, though. :)
