So, I won first place in Challenge 121 back in November and never actually got around to creating a tutorial for it since I ended up being busy with rl. So thanks to pensnest for letting me post this late :)
We're going from to
This tutorial was made with Photoshop CS5 and uses Curves, Hue/Saturation, Gradient Map, Brightness/Contrast and Flood Fill layers.
I was invited to do a tutorial for either or both of the texture sets I made for Challenge 120 and since I couldn't decide which texture set to make a tutorial for so I made one for both. In order not to spam this community, I'm only posting the tutorial for the first texture I made to this community. The other one can be found here at love_sacrificed.
This was made with Photoshop CS 5 using various filters and a hue/saturation layer. Most of these should be available in earlier versions of Photoshop.
This set was made in PS5 (on a Mac), using basically Filters and Layer Modes. The specifics may not be available in other programs or versions of Photoshop, but the general method is available to anyone.
Greetings! One tutorial for Challenge 114 coming up. While I kept careful notes that make it sound like I knew where I was going with this from the first moment, let me say that my best icon technique is "try things until something works" and that's definitely where I went with this one.
This icon was created using Photoshop CS5, along with some outside textures (I'll label them as I go). ( Collapse )
If I am not clear enough on any step, or you would like clarification for any reason, please ask. It is quite possible that I may have missed mentioned something!
Hi all, and thank you for voting for this icon. It was made in Photoshop CS5 on a Mac, and uses Gradient Map, Levels and Colour Fill, so all quite translatable, I'm sure. ( Collapse )
