Top 5 Records/Legal Update

So the past few days I've been thinking I should do a top 5 records of the week kind of thing...and that others should post theirs as well, here. 5 records you listened to the most, etc...

but before i start that, im going to post my 5 favorite albums that have come out this year...which is to say, the ones ive liked period since i haven't been into a whole lot of 2004 stuff, still discovering good stuff from last year.

So far, in 2004:
1. Califone - Heron King Blues
2. Isis - Panopticon
3. Mission of Burma - ONoffOn
4. TV on the Radio - Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes
5. Tortoise - It's All Around You

i slept until about 10:30 today. that's rare for me because i usually get up and go to the gym...this week ive really done some sleeping in though because of going out later than usual.

tonight - Explosions in the Sky
tomorrow - bbqing/grilling

Also, while discussing The Cathedral and the Bazaar by Eric Raymond with Mark last night, we ended up talking about a weird article i wrote for an entertainment law class and realized, there's not a whole ton of people who write in a sort of law and culture/society niche and that maybe I should.

So i might develop my website idea for computer/entertainment law along that angle, starting off by posting revised versions of two articles i wrote in law school for classes. A version of my criminal law journal article (not the whole 55 pages) might be up there too, eventually - it was on electronic surveillance, the patriot act, and america's privacy standard and the law.

A cool late september breeze...

Yesterday, Jennifer and I competed against each other in the Most Annoying Roommate contest. I'd say she won.

I got the remote for my 5 disc player and have initiated random music listening.

Spiritualized - Pure Phase
Tortoise - TNT
Mogwai - Come On, Die Young
Shiner - Starless
Dianogah - As Seen From Above

Friday, Califone played at the Hideout Block Party. They covered the Rolling Stones and it was pretty cool. I really wanted to hear them play their own stuff, but I got into the tribute band thing. They've sort of become well known for that because of a split/tour they did.

Saturday, bbbqed for a bit and then went to Joliet for Kisha's White Trash Gambling Extravaganza. They had no 5 dollar blackjack tables...not even 10 dollar blackjack tables...so i played video poker and lost 40 bucks plus money for food and drinks.

I've gotten into a decent gym routine the last two weeks. I need to take my bike and car in to get looked at - both are giving me annoying brake trouble.

Neural

I got the 20gb piece for my Neuros mp3 player.
very exciting.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself this week, as far as occupying time while job searching.

One of my birthday presents with the birthday cash was ESPN NHL 2005. I started a franchise as the Florida Panthers and we're struggling through the first quarter of the season with a lot of injuries. But I can't sit and play video games all day...or can I?
