Wicked!

So I have a bootleg of Wicked! and have sort of read the first book, and plot points of the second.

I do not like the books (sorry folks) but loved the musical. So, this year I bought the movie 2 pack.

Folks, I thought I couldn't love anything more than the stage production. I was WRONG. I love the additions, the expansion on characters, and OH MY GOD they went there!

It leans hard into the sapphic, and yet I still love the end het pairing. I stand by these words said to my son: "They didn't shy away from making it a queer man who loves a pair of queer women who love each other." (Don't believe me on the first part of that? Rewatch the "Dancing Through Life" act.)

I adore that they ramped up Morrible's role in just how awful it is. I love that the wizard is fairly bumbly in all he sets out to do. I love that Elphaba's actress LITERALLY matured her voice over the role to show the aging (listen the the early songs then the later ones. She modulated to be YOUNG in the first couple).

And now for my after movie summary: "and then G(a)linda sets in motion things for finding Ozma, and "retires" to study goodness, finding Elphie and Fiyero and they all live happily ever after"

Simply put, I LOVE IT.

I seem to have only written one fic, back when all I had was the musical and books, which the latter does not apply.
