Upcoming Vending Opportunities at Our Lady of the Earth and Sky

Upcoming Vending Opportunities at Our Lady of the Earth and Sky

OLOTEAS welcomes vendors at all of our events, but particularly on our big festival days when the weather (usually) encourages folks to be outdoors and our attendance tends to be higher. Upcoming festival events are the Earth and Sky Pagan Camp-Out and Concentric Circles.

Earth and Sky Pagan Campout Friday, July 27- Sunday, July 29, 2012.

The Earth and Sky Pagan Campout is a weekend of rustic camping, workshops, rituals, and vendors in a magickal wetlands setting. The event is all ages, so bring the whole family! The campout will also include features such as: a Bardic Circle ~ Indoor Pool ~ Outdoor Hot Tub ~ Workshops and Rituals ~ Food Service (Cash Only Please) ~ Large Outdoor Kitchen (w/ refrigerator space) Healing Temple ~ Aphrodite/Pan Shrine and more!

Concentric Circles Saturday, September 22, 2012.

Concentric Circles is an all-day event at the Longhouse, in Redmond, where OLOTEAS hosts their monthly celebrations. The site is a large acreage on wetlands with a main house, stone circle, outbuildings, a heated pool and hot tub and plenty of parking. The event runs from 1PM - 11PM and often includes rituals, workshops, guided meditations, demonstrations and panel discussions from various local Pagan groups and traditions. We often have many vendors that come to share the day with us as well. It is always a fantastic day of learning, worship, and community building.

What?
Anything legal to vend as either service or ware *should* be acceptable. Some examples of wares and services that we have had are: jewelry, crafts, baked goods, books, clothing, magickal supplies, art, cards & gifts, henna, temporary tattoos, tarot readings, massage, face painting, hair design, etc. Be creative! We also welcome informational booths about your group, tradition or service.

Where?
You are free to set up whatever table/booth/blanket that you would like on the lawn between the Boca Veritas Shrine and the Greenhouse. This is the lawn beyond the pool area of the Longhouse. When you check in at the front door (or registration booth, depending on the event), whoever is there can direct you to the right place. Please make sure to leave a wide path from the Blockhouse to the Stone Circle.

When?
Vendors may vend for as little or as much of the event as they wish, within the site opening and site closing time restrictions and around the main ritual.

How?
Vendors should plan to bring their own tables, booths, blankets, umbrellas, canopies, etc. Basically we supply a spot on the lawn and the Pagan customers.

How much?
There are no additional fees for vending; vendors pay the same site fee as all other event participants. No cut will be taken for vending or service fees.

Who?
Email the Pastor, Stephanie, at Stephanie@oloteas.org if you have any questions or find her at the event.

Our Lady of the Earth and Sky's 7th Annual Community Festival February 25, 2012!

Our Lady of the Earth and Sky's 7th Annual Community Festival February 25, 2012!

It is time once again for the staff of OLOTEAS to turn the spotlight on you! Concentric Circles in September features local Pagan groups that are part of our community, but operate separately from OLOTEAS, while the February Community Festival focuses on presentations from within our own little community. This does not mean that if you are part of one of these larger groups you cannot apply to present as an individual or small group.

We on the staff recognize how richly diverse and talented you are! We want to give you all a chance to share this with the rest of the community. What gifts do you have to share? Do you have rare knowledge, such as an ancient language, a cultural dance, or a traditional story? Do you have practical magickal skills that you could teach us in a workshop? Have you taken any special training, such as first aid, orienteering, wilderness awareness, composting, astronomy, habit restoration, etc.? Would you or a group of you like to put on a ritual? Show us what you've got! Work on your presentation skills amongst your friends!

If you are interested in being a presenter, please e-mail me at gasbarri at comcast dot net for the registration form and more information. If you think you may be interested, contact me ASAP so we can get you started. Please include a short description of what you have in mind for your presentation. The deadline for registration as a presenter is the January 28th, 2012 OLOTEAS event day.

We already have interested presenters and I am really looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank You!

I want to send out a big THANK YOU to all of the groups that agreed to come out and present and all of the festival volunteers that lent their aid at Concentric Circles on Saturday! Concentric Circles is an event that has long been close to my heart as it is a coming together of a lot of diverse beliefs and practices with a common purpose of creating community and sharing information. The staff of Our Lady of the Earth and Sky is so grateful for your participation!

Our Lady of the Earth and Sky June Services June 25, 2011

Our Lady of the Earth and Sky invites all to join us for our June services.

Date: Saturday, June 25, ~ 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Where: 23301 NE Redmond-Fall City Road - Redmond 98053 (see directions below)

June Ritual: "Summer Community Ritual" (with this month's ritual director, Kimberly)
Community participation ritual! This month, we will work from a structure but create a ritual spontaneously together. The grounding, elemental calls, and evocations will be given by those who volunteer, with energic participation from all those who are willing. We will also determine the "working" (the intention) of the ritual during the pre-ritual discussion. Happy Summer! Hope to see you there!

Community Discussion: “Pagans in the Wider World” (with Stephanie)
How does your spirituality influence your day to day activities? What roles, if any, should Pagans play in creating the world we want to live in, outside of our faith community?

Younglings’ Workshop: “Celebrating the Summer Solstice!” (with Dana)
Join us for a discussion of the Summer Solstice and ways to celebrate the holiday. While we talk, we will be working on a sunny craft project to bring that solar energy into our lives.

Day Schedule:
10:00 AM Stewardship Party (please do not arrive before 2:00 PM unless you are joining the Stewardship Party)
2:00 PM Site opens; singing and chanting in the stone circle
2:30 PM Opening circle
4:00 -5:30 PM Community Discussion: Pagans in the Wider World
4:00 -5:00 PM Younglings’ and Young Adults’ Workshop(s): Celebrating the Summer Solstice
6:00 PM Potluck dinner
7:00 PM Newcomer’s Orientation (please plan to attend if you have not been to an OLOTEAS event before)
7:45 PM Pre-ritual discussion with ritual to follow
9:00-10:00 Dancing in the Blockhouse
10:30 PM Closing Circle

What to Bring:
Snacks for yourself, a potluck item to share, and your own feast gear (plate, cup, utensils), as on-site supplies are limited. No meat may be prepared on the kitchen surfaces (pre-cooked meat is acceptable). No alcohol or other intoxicants are allowed at OLOTEAS events. You might also want to bring a towel for pool/hot tub use (note: the pool area is clothing-optional). Shoes cannot be worn inside, so please wear a pair that can be slipped easily on and off. We strive to do the main ritual outside, regardless of weather, so please bring layered clothing for colder/wetter weather if desired. Feel free to bring and play your drums or other instruments. Also, please note that, due to allergy and wildlife concerns, no pets are allowed on site (except service animals).

Registration:
For this event, we request a donation of $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for young adults ages 13-17, and $2.00 for children 2-12; this includes all aspects of the event. It is important for event and ritual planning that *all* people check in at the front door. Please do not arrive before 2:00 PM unless you want to attend the Stewardship Party at 10:00 AM.

A Note About Children:
This site features a swimming pool, hot tub, and numerous natural outside features that pose potential risks for unattended children; therefore, children MUST be under adult supervision (in line-of-sight) at ALL times during this event. With respect to the pool, an individual adult may be responsible FOR NO MORE THAN 3 CHILDREN (those 13 and under). Other than the kids’ workshop (when offered), there are no organized children’s activities, although there are games and crafts for kids.

A Note About Noise at the Longhouse:
The Longhouse requires that participants keep the noise level very low after 10:00 PM. Loud noise includes car alarms (so make sure your alarm is turned off), car muffler issues or backfiring (if your vehicle has issues, please park at the top of the hill parking lot), loud motorcycle engines (again, please park at the top of the hill parking lot), drumming or other music (if it continues long after ritual, please stop and ask a staff member if there is a space indoors where drumming or other music could continue until 10:00 PM), and loud talking in the parking lot (voices carry over to the neighbors’ property). Also, please be considerate by entering and exiting the site quietly.

A Note About Parking and Carpooling:
Please carpool if at all possible — there is limited onsite parking. If driving to the site, please park close to the adjacent vehicle, but be considerate of vehicles displaying disability license plates or signs. Once at the site, due to limited space and potential number of participants, we advise that folks leave most personal belongings in their vehicles.

Directions:
Take 520 eastbound to the Redmond Way/Fall City (WA 202) Exit. Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp. Go approximately 5 miles on Redmond-Fall City Road . Driveway is on the right, 23301 (directly across from Guardwell Storage). If you pass Albertson’s, you have gone about 100 yards too far. When you first pull into the drive you should immediately see a large wooden sign that says The Longhouse; if you don’t you are in the neighbors’ drive.

OLOTEAS Spring Work Party! Saturday, March 26th

I need you! Yes you! A hearty soul who loves the land and does not mind getting dirty to join me for the March OLOTEAS work party. We will end around 1:30pm and then we will feed you lunch!

Who: Find Dana when you arrive and find out what we will be working on.

When: 10am - 1:30pm, Saturday, March 26, 2011: If you show up onsite before the doors open at 2:00PM, the assumption will be that you are there for work party (and we love you for it!).

Where: The Longhouse: We do not know exactly what our tasks will be but be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor yard work. Boots, gloves and a change of clothes tend to come in handy.

Why: Besides the environmental ethic of Paganism and the fact that it is just plain fun, part of OLOTEAS' arrangement with the Longhouse includes at least a five person monthly work party. Also, if times are tight for you (as they are for many of us) and you cannot pay full site fee, helping with things like work party and clean up is a great way to contribute to your community.

If you have special food needs for lunch (Vegan, no wheat, and so on) and you are coming to work party, please email me dana (at) oloteas (dot) org and I will make sure there is something for you to eat.

Hope to see you all on Saturday!
Dana :)
