Got a chance to head down to Buffalo this weekend to see the game in person... living in Ontario, it's likely to remain the only chance I'll get to see them for quite some time.
Good game overall (my brief recap is here, though it deals more with my fascinating confrontations with Buffalo fans than with any actual analysis) . Rivers wasn't amazing, but made good decisions and no mistakes (except for that strange fumble), and L.T.'s 50 yard touchdown was a sight to behold in person. When there's one guy standing between him and the endzone and you have no doubt he'll be able to beat that guy, you're in good hands.
Haven't these guys ever heard of a point spread? You can't give up that late TD!
Seriously though... D looked good today. Phillips back next week? I hope so. It's gonna be a tough game against those Bengals, now desperate as they are.
Alright, if we're going to get this community going, let's talk about Shawne Merriman! What does everyone think? I'd like to beleive he didn't knowingly use steroids, but it would be pretty naive given that the "tainted supplement" story is used by EVERYONE who has a positive test, and most of the time I roll my eyes at them.
That being said, he does seem genuine... who knows.
At least with him serving his suspension now, he's back Dec. 3 in Buffalo, where I'll he happily attending. One doesn't get much chance to see the Chargers play live when you live in Canada; it would have been a shame not to see the next Lawrence Taylor.
Anyone still use this community? I think we should get it going again. Step 1: whoever's in charge should remove "marty-ball" from the interests. No one ACTUALLY likes Marty Ball...
