[ So. Here's Dean, hiding behind what looks like something close to a broken, crumbling pillar of some sorts -- one of the many you would find in the Ruins. His back is pressed to it, and he casts quick looks around, as if expecting something to jump out at him. Otherwise he looks pretty good, a little breathless if anything, like he's been running.

And that's actually exactly what he's been doing.

He fumbles with the Forge, speaking quickly but in a hushed voice; ]

Someone could've told me there are giant freakin' bears in the ruins. And not just your every day Animal Planet ones -- more like a freaky cousin on steroids! [ He's talking about the Anatole's very own Cave Bears, which are…apparently massive.

And as if on cue, you can hear the angry grunts of a very, very large animal, one that sounds pretty darn pissed too, close by. Watch Dean stiffen the hell up and then all but melt into the broken pillar behind him.

He….does look a little (read; very) worried. Naturally the thing is between him and Anatole, so he's stuck. ]

If anyone knows how to distract this overgrown freak of a Winnie the Pooh, because nothing I've tried is working -- [ And only because Dean actually pissed the bear off, so it's on a mission now. ] -- I'm all ears.

[ ooc; …if anyone wants their character to come help dean out, feel free to action tag! he's not very far into the ruins, so the mist levels aren't high. or you can always just laugh at him, dude kinda deserves this. 8|;;; ]

[ Here's Dean, looking a little guarded and uncomfortable, but hey, he has to ask a few things, so here goes. ]

So, a little birdie told me something interesting' about the, uh, Door. [ The little birdie being a very, very angry Dawn Summers. ] Is it true that you like -- I mean, the normal people who come here start to develop all sorts of freaky powers? 'Cause I don't know about that, I didn't sign up for it. [ And the whole freaky powers thing is way more up Sam's alley, anyway. ] Is it more like a red pill, blue pill thing, or…is it just gonna happen?

Gimme details, people.

[ Yeah, needless to say, he has a few issues with the just the idea alone.

After a beat, he moves on. ]

Second thing. A job. I need one. [ Someone has to slam money on the table around here, and unfortunately none of his ~stolen~ credit cards work. ] I'm pretty good with my hands -- [ A smirk. ] -- so you name it, and I can probably figure out a way to do it. Just try me.

And last thing. I'm kinda running on my last minutes here at the, uh, place they put all the new folk at. So… [ Yeah, he needs to figure out a place to stay -- probably something where Sam and Bobby can tag along too. ] Just tell me there's at least some kinda motel 'round here? Every place has one. [ Right? Right? ]

But yeah. That's it.

[ The feed is set on video, and you all have one very unimpressed Dean to deal with. ]

Right, okay. Let me just throw this out there right away; am I dead? 'Cause really, that wasn't the deal. [ It came due too early if that really is the case. ] And not to be nit-picky, but boy, this wasn't what I was expecting. [ Where's the hellfire and pitchforks? ]

At least tell me what happened to Sam. You know, tall and lanky -- with an incredibly stupid haircut? Yeah, that guy. He better be alive and kicking'. [ That was the most important part of the deal, after all. ]

So let's hear it you black-eyed sons of bitches.

[Dean appears on screen in his room looking tired and even worse than he did when he'd arrived.]

Yeah.

Sorry I wasn't much help during that Ivy Rose bullshit.

Somethin' came up. [Dean drags his palm over his face and through his hair and sighs.]

[Filtered to Arthur but viewable to everyone.]

If you still need that place fixed up, lemme know. [He squares his shoulders and acts more professional now.]

I'll bring over company and we'll make a day job of it.

Apologize for not gettin' back to you sooner. [A cocky southern smile and he ends his filtered feed.]

[The next bit he's focused somewhere off screen and because of that he's muffled but not inaudible.] Do things happen like that all the time here?

And what about people showin' up from where you're from? That too?

So, there's a kid missing? [Dean sounds thought, reflected, and a little worn out. He's pretty pissed about being stuck here still.] Guess we'd better find her.

I know, easier said than done... but I don't want her to turn up dead like the last victim.

This place's pretty twisted.

[When Dean first comes to it's in that general lull of sleep that you have to wade through for a few moments before you're really aware of what's going on. He expects to be in Lisa's bed, to have Lisa next to him, when he rolls over and finds empty space he snaps up.

It's another few seconds before he notes the decor, the rifling has been made obvious because his communication device was something he leaned into in getting up accidentally turning it on.
] ...The hell?

[The sound of Dean easing off the bed is obvious, a door opening and shutting, frustrated foot steps. Half of him thinks it's a Djinn the other is leaning more toward angels. Dean sits back against the bed, checks his person for his weapons. The first thing he finds is his cell phone and he starts flipping through contacts, the sounds of the button pressing audible. It requires no thought for him to hit Lisa's name and send but there's no reception, the call doesn't go through and all that the call returns is white noise.]

Figures.

[Dean scrubs his hand over his jaw to stave away the building anxiety. It's only then that it hits him. The last time his cell had behaved this way he'd been in a Croatoan land mine, or heaven. With an annoyed exhale he eases off the bed with a squeak, the device now clearly visible against the bedding. He'd rolled over it in getting up. The sound of it brushing against his palms as he turns it over is all too clear, when he sees that he's being recorded Dean's tone changes from confused and displaced to irate.] That's convenient.
