somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known

Creator reveals for unsent_letters_exchange mean that I can talk about my first time participating in a fic exchange with an actual deadline! I picked up two pinch hits, as... requesting is intimidating and honestly most of the time I like writing fics myself if I want something so I can tailor it to myself and my tastes, aha. But I love writing fics for others based on their prompts, so pinch hitting is ideal!

My first fic was a Bastion character study for silvereye/silveredeye, who requested something focused on Zulf and tickled my interest with their leaning towards how complicated everything is after the Evacuation, where they have to try and just go on. I decided to tie it into Zulf's late fiancee, as it seemed the most safe place for him to write letters to and a good outlet for the inevitable grief. It's almost like a diary, but not really.

And my second fic was for Hades, took mother_hearted's request for 'Achilles angst' and ran with it. Short on the actual epistolary elements with this one, because Achilles didn't really want to talk ('a warrior, not a writer'), but I've wanted to write a Patroclus/Achilles fic for a while and I can't believe it took me until now to do it.
