Finished painting old flat, yay!
I took a day off work on Friday, and Hubby and I spent the weekend painting the rest of the old apartment. Fortunately, we're finished now. I don't think I could stand another weekend alternating between standing bent over, hurting my back, and kneeling on the floor, hurting my knees while painting the corners, next to the skirting boards, behind the radiators and around the doors, light switches and sockets... (basically every part of the wall that Hubby's roller couldn't cover)
The bathroom was especially annoying because I had to stand on the edge of the bathtub to paint the walls above it. The ladder didn't fit in the tub, and my arms were to short to reach the walls when I'd put the ladder beside the bathtub. (It sucks big time to be small!) I finally put a board across the bathtub and stood on this, but my legs got all crampy because I tried to stand absolutely still in fear any moves would make the board slide from the bathtub's rim.
I'm so glad it's over now!
Our dishwasher was making strange noises yesterday. Worried, Hubby looked at the thing and found out that the man who assembled the kitchen connected it to the warm water supply instead of the cold water tap. I dunno if this is the cause of the noise, but warm water has a much lower pressure than cold water, so perhaps the machine didn't get enough water fast enough and this caused the strange sounds... Not to mention that warm water is more expensive than cold water (even 17 liters, which is the amount needed for one washing) and the dishwasher doesn't need warm water because it heats it itself. Blergh.
