am i really missing something are the comment pages really *that* bad? Yes losing subject lines suck and somewhat annoying but this new design isn't that horrible. The new facebook is way more annoying headache inducing.

Alright see, I'm from New Orleans. This city is freaking teeming with crazy stuff and people who fully believe in the supernatural. Yes, I am one of those crazies but I have a good reason. Plus this is like a totally harmless ghost encounter so you know.

Here's the story -- for which it's really Harry Connick Jr.'s fault I saw a ghost that I didn't know was a ghost till I was in high school. When I was in middle school I was on my dance team (horrible uniforms that made us look like aircraft signaling flags) and we got a yearly field trip to the French Quarter (always on Saturday) in which the dance team and cheerleaders got to basically run free around the FQ for a few hours. It was fantastic!

In 7th grade we got to go to the reopened of the Cabildo and catch a children's performance of "The Little Mermaid" at this theater next door called Le Petit Theatre. We were early and were waiting outside when cops came and told us we would have to leave because they had cars and carriages coming through for a big wedding at the Cathedral. Harry Connick Jr's wedding to one Jill Goodacre to be exact. Now this is a big deal because yeah he's a popular singer and she was a Victoria Secret model at the time but really it's cause his Dad is fucking huge in New Orleans politics and was at the time the District Attorney for the city. So the cops get the theater to let us in early and they shuttle us off to the courtyard that between that between the theater and the offices.

It's cool and neat and kinda of creepy. Like hair is standing up on the back of your neck creepy. So there is this guy...in a nice spring suit. A seersucker to be exact which was odd to me because it was before Easter and you just don't wear a suit like that before Easter. He's looking at us from one of the upper balconies just staring at us mess around. Now my friends and I finally get to go into the theater for the performance when I remember that I left my letterman jacket in the courtyard. So I go back in and he's there looking down still and being creepy. I grab my jacket and look up again and like that he's not there anymore. The doors on his balcony aren't open and honestly I just wanted to the get the fuck out before I had to think to much about it. So I continued on with my life remembering yet forgetting about this until my Senior year of high school and a interesting night with a Ouija board.

The summer between Junior and Senior year was interesting and for some reason my friends and I thought it would be fun to get into the habit of going to each others houses and using the ouija board and seeing what happens. It was pretty late and after abandoning the board to tell ghost stories my friend starts talking about how he was working at Le Petit doing lighting and about how they have a ridiculous amount of ghosts and which ones were his favorite. He starts talking about this one boring one that just stares at girls in the courtyard and before he could finish I said "wearing a summer suit?" My friend looks at me and says "you've seen him?" So I telling him the whole story from 7th grade and by the time I'm through my friend is convinced that I've seen the same ghost. Apparently this ghost only comes out for girls and it's isn't heavily documented because he just stares and doesn't cause trouble unlike the other theater ghosts. I haven't a clue of his story because really he's just that boring of ghost. He just leers at girls on the balcony of the courtyard.


So there you go my ghost experience...kinda boring and totally Harry Connick Jr's fault.

i wish i could process this better. i wish i had the courage to see him one more time and not remember him that way. i wish he wasnt such an asshole for doing this to us. i wish i didnt have to have a conversation with my mother on when is it a good day to take my father off his vent. i wish i didnt have to decide what his funeral will be like and what songs he would want to hear. i wish he was a better father to me.

I'm slowly but surely losing my ability to hideout on the internet. I wish some things/people would just stay separate. It's a selfish feeling but I enjoyed that I could bitch about things and not have to worry about things being taken the wrong way. sigh...

I've had this journal for six years and since Katrina my ability to journal has just gone away. I'm paying for something and but I just don't know what anymore. That needs to change.

Right, in a way its like being tagged on Facebook Places while you're at Starbucks just cause your cousin saw you.. but I don't like being tagged while I'm getting a mocha frap (I've used it myself a few times but honestly all that foursquaring just hits my creepy meter too much) just like I don't want my family to know that I enjoy Star Trek fanfic and pictures of kittens.
