childhood friend! lohen who you knew since diapers. both growing up in mondstadt to two neighboring families, becoming friends with him was basically inevitable. whenever his parents visited, they'd always bring him too. both yours and his often tried to make you two play together, cooing how "cute" it was
childhood friend! lohen who you didn't really like at first. whether it was reading bedtime stories or playing tag, the two of you were like oil and water. he was too annoying, always teasing and hiding your things. you tried to ignore him, but he somehow always gets a reaction out of you in the end.
childhood friend! lohen who you found one day, playing alone by himself. it was the first time in years you didn't see a smirk on his face. he was just… there, looking at the other kids. not joining, just observing. when he suddenly asked why you didn't avoid him like the others, you just raised an eyebrow, suspicious at the change in behavior. there was no hidden twinkle in his eyes, a tell that he's planning a prank soon. he was asking seriously.
childhood friend! lohen who you realized was actually lonely. you never noticed it before because he was always with you, but thinking about it, you never really saw him with other kids. it was always grumpy you and annoying him. now it made sense why your playmates would tug at your sleeve whenever he appeared. they always seemed tense in his presence. for once, you felt… bad. lohen — stupid, idiotic, ANNOYING lohen — was still your friend. and you didn't want to leave your friend behind.
childhood friend! lohen who genuinely looked shocked when you replied, 'why should i?' he grinned and teasingly asked if you liked him. the way he said it was grating, each syllable stretched out in a high pitch. but you know him better. this kid, your mortal enemy who almost gave you white hair at the ripe age of 9, felt like one nudge away from crying. so for once, you answered honestly. no huffing, puffing, or hmphing — just one word, one syllable: 'yes'
childhood friend! lohen who immediately turned into a tomato. his entire face was bright red, from the tips of his ears to the chubby cheeks in his face. for the first time, he didn't retort with something outrageous. he just stared at you, lips parted as if about to say something.
childhood friend! lohen who you shared a real, warm hug with for the first time in years. it was awkward, as expected of two mortal 'enemies'. he didn't cry, but you felt something warm drip, drip, drip into the fabric of your shirt. he didn't sob, but you heard his hushed sniffles, hiccuping as he tried to stop them.
