The Sisters of Christian Charity is a Congregation of vowed women religious responding to God’s call to bring the love of Christ to the world. Inspired by the life of Pauline Von Mallinckrodt the Sisters work in a variety of ministries including education, healthcare, pastoral work, retreat and spiritual centers, and social work.

Our 2024 Provincial Chapter called us to “cultivate a peaceful and just world characterized by right relationships with God, our neighbor, and ourselves”. As religious women, empowered by the charism of our founder, Mother Pauline von Mallinckrodt, we strive to do this in our relationships, in our ministries and in our work for peace and justice.
We are deeply concerned by the escalating violence in Iran and the resulting loss of innocent life. Such acts of aggression stand in stark opposition to our core values of peace and the protection of human life. Instead of finding a path toward resolution, these actions further contribute to a global culture of hostility and are in direct contradiction to Gospel values and Catholic social teaching. Violence only heightens a culture of violence already present in our broken world
In his recent letters Pope Leo reminds us of our moral responsibility to stop the spiral of violence that is destroying relationships among countries in our world. He reminds us that peace is not built with weapons that sow destruction and death, but only through authentic dialogue.
We join with him and in solidarity with all people of faith who are speaking out against the atrocities of war. We ask you to join us in praying for an end to this war and for peace in Iran and in all areas of our world where human beings live in fear of violence and death.
