I know that Millar sucks at ending the stories and often relies on a cop out, but that's a new low.
This is him not even trying and just saying "Here: litteral Deux Ex Machina. Story over, everybody is happy."

At least it's evolved a tiny bit from "Bad guy achieves empathy and awareness but gets murdered for his crimes anyway"

This is the note Red Son would've ended on if Millar hadn't taken Morrison's suggestion for the final twist.

some things happened. But not in the way I expected them. so that was definitely a positive thing. Overall I enjoyed this mini. Now, please, Mr. Millar, leave the characters be with a happy ending.

It's still a little hard to reconcile this story with the larger Millarverse which includes Nemesis, Kick-Ass, Ambassadors, Wanted, and plenty of evidence to go against the "a whole bunch of secret nice super-guys will take us to space" ending.

I suppose it helps to just assume it's stand-alone apart from the crossover with Big Game.
