Steve: "I NEED to KNOW I can trust you."

Steve: "Did I marry a Skrull?"

Jess: "A what?"

Steve: "You don't know what a Skrull is?"

Jess: "I don't know if I know who YOU are!"

Steve: "JESSICA, ARE YOU A SKRULL OR NOT?!"

Spider-Woman: "WHAT?! No! I mean maybe! I mean YOU WILL SUBMIT!"

Jess: "Interrupting!"

While the "Happily Ever After" does include averting the Avengers Disassembled, as well as House of M, Decimation and who knows what else, the fact that it's also her marrying Steve Rogers instead of Luke Cage is making me go a bit: "Uhhh... hmm."

I don't think Jess and Luke were even married when this comic was published. In fact, she had only been around for a couple years. At the time lot of fans were really irritated with this story that man who "broke the Avengers" and put it back together with Wolverine is telling the story about how none of that would have happened if his own pet creation was there. But now we're further from the point that Jessica was created than the gap between when Jessica and Wolverine were creaed.

I know it's basically Jessica-shilling, but I really like the idea and would like to see how this particular universe would have developed later on the timeline, particularly in light of events that were not influenced by the disassembling not happening.
