- From all different cultures and planets, including
- The main character whose cockiness disguises his fear and insecurity
- His much smarter and more formidable love interest/co main character, who starts out working for the bad guys but is won over to the good guys' side
- The ethereal being with mind powers who's a gentle pacifist but also incredibly dangerous
- The big burly tough-looking one who turns out to be a total goofball sweetheart
- And the small-statured, rude one obsessed with bodily functions
- Who can only start working together once they establish mutual translation technology
- Aboard a ship with a sentient pilot whose existence is linked to the vessel
- That mainly defends itself by running away real fast, as its back end unfolds to unleash a blast of stellar energy, a "starburst" one might say
- On the run from the constant pursuit of a pale, hatchet-faced ghoul with surprising moral complexity!
It's a great show in its own right, but I adore how much of its premise it cribs from FARSCAPE -- much like how season 1 of PICARD is essentially STAR TREK: FIREFLY.

Date: 2024-09-13 03:20 am (UTC)I'm also always amazed that the more people don't make the link between Guardians of the Galaxy and Farscape. The relaunched GoG comic that the movies were based on was pretty much a rip off of Farscape! So I could never watch those movies without thinking Farscape did it first, and better!
