PERSONAL VICTORY!

I got this self-discipline plan from one of the gals who runs the "Ask the Aspies" Yahoo Group, wherein I am to use a timer to firmly clock myself at two hours of work and one hour of play (nonproductive focus of interest). I had been being naughty and not implementing this method for a long, long time. Well, at my last psychotherapy session, my therapist said, "Your assignment for our next session is to report to me that you have been using the method that lady gave you for reining in your Asperger temptations." So, I started using it this week.
 
Well, tonight, I started work at 8:00, and there was a lot of work in the queue, but the reports were really small and thus did not produce many lines. When I got to the end of my two-hour session, I had not typed many lines at all, and there were still 5 jobs left in the queue when I had completed the job I was doing. I looked at my work log, I looked at the total jobs remaining--back and forth, back and forth. Finally, I whined to myself, selected the next job, and kept going until there were no more jobs left in the queue.
 
I ended up getting in 152 lines for the night, which is pretty good, considering the average line count of the reports I did tonight was 30.4, and when you're doing small reports, your production goes way down because of all the things you have to do between each report before starting a new one.
 
So, anyway, I'm pretty proud of myself, being a newly diagnosed Aspie (November 2005 at age 35; I'm 36, now) and all....

Welcome to the "Save Autism Now:We don't want a cure we want supprt' group.This group is ment for people who have a autism specttrum disorder(or those that have a family member or friend with autism) and are sick of people trying to cure autism and the media portraying us in a negative way.I have Asperger Syndrome and I'm sick of all this BS.I don't want to be cured,I'm happy with the way I am!I want awareness and support!
