So weird to read back on old Livejournal entries. I'm not sure I'm the same person I was before, and it was definitely disturbing! So I've made them all private, so I still have the memories, but I don't have to *look* at them.
But yes - I didn't want to delete my journal because I still check in on my friends list from time to time, and I didn't want to miss things that were friends only.
Quick update on my life, for those who haven't kept track. I live in South Oxfordshire, England now. I got my British citizenship 3 years ago, and I moved to the UK 9 years ago. I'm engaged to a wonderful guy named Neil, and the wedding is next year with a honeymoon in Peru. I'm a project coordinator for a company that does technology (computer systems, networks, internet connectivity, etc) for schools. I have an allotment, and I spend a lot of time there.
