Beginner Lolita on a budget

 So I've spent almost the entire weekend looking for a new lolita outfit. Unfortunately I do not have an unlimited budget, and it can be extremely tempting to blow all of my money on my hobby. I work and go to school, and don't get money from my parents or boyfriend. I have to work for everything!

I have set a few ground rules for myself when buying Lolita:
1) I will not use my credit card.

2) I will not tap into my savings account.

I realize that once I do either of these things once, I will find excuses to do them again and again. I would therefore deplete my savings account and get into debt. I just paid off my credit card last month and do not want to rack it back up again. 

Also, I will only buy one new outfit a month. Outfit includes: dress, accessories, and maybe hair. Luckily i know how to make all my jewelry so I don't have to worry about that. 

Now on to the good stuff:

On Friday i bought a beautiful Alice in Wonderland dress for Comicon. It cost $110 with shipping. It comes with a hair piece, a petticoat, and an adorable apron. I'm pretty excited to get it in the mail. I still need to go down to Hollywood to buy an Alice wig, which will cost $45. I'm also planning on buying bloomers from Bodyline during my next pay period. Those are gonna run me $20. 
I'd like to accessorize the dress with homemade bread butterflies, but I don't know I'll have the room. Maybe I'll decorate the headpiece with them instead. 

I just posted my hair extensions on ebay, and am hoping someone buys them. I posted them for $150, which would cover the cost of my next outfit:
Mint green body line ice cream dress. I would need to buy a frilly undershirt for it as well. The dress itself is $50 with shipping. The matching bag would be another $8.
What better to pull it together than a mint green wig. It costs $56 with shipping. Beautiful. 
I might have enough left over for the wood mary jane shoes from bodyline. 

I'm planning on accessorizing this outfit with mint chocolate chip themed junk food. My necklace will have about 6 cupcakes, while the earrings will be cupcake dangles. I'll make paper clay kawaii ice cream scoops for the hair piece. I'll also do the ice cream scoops for the wrist cuffs.

My first entry

 I can't believe its ten pm already.


I have to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow, which is not a pleasant thought. 

I kind of wish I had Skooter bugs life. 

Skooters day:

Wake up
give the household kisses
eat
go back to sleep
play with posie
go back to sleep until everyone comes home from work
get love and attention(s)
eat again
sleep again

What a life. 

Skooter is my two year old boxer dog. He's a pretty amazing guy. 

Tomorrow I have a rough draft due for an 10 page research paper. I only have 4 of those pages typed up. I find it so hard to find motivation for school work these days. Recently, I felt like I did at the end up high school. I feel completely unmotivated to do any of the work. I actually enjoy working more than I do going to school. 

Oh well. Four more weeks. Then i get to start working on my comic con outfits.
